Reminder
Additional School Supplies
Attendance and Vistitors
In accordance with Wisconsin State Law, section 118.15, all students are required to attend school regularly on a consistent and timely basis. If a student is absent from school without an acceptable excuse for part or all of five or more days per semester, a petition may then be filed through the juvenile system. Though we respect that parents have the right to excuse their child from school, it is at the district's discretion to determine whether or not absences are valid.
We strongly encourage families to schedule vacations during our regular days off. If parents do schedule a family vacation during the school year, we ask that you notify the office in writing at least one week in advance.
Parents and visitors are reminded to sign in and wear a lanyard anytime they're in the building. Visitors, parents and/or guardians MUST sign in at the office before proceeding elsewhere in the building.
PBIS
PBIS T-shirts - Stone Bank School will again be implementing our PBIS program (Positive Behaviors Interventions and Supports). This program is intended to have year-round, school-wide activities that build positive community across all school environments (classroom, playground, hallways, lunchroom, etc.). The focus will be on teaching and reinforcing positive behaviors throughout the school year. Visible reminders are up around the school and in each classroom to support positive behaviors. There will be all-school assemblies and ongoing conversations within each classroom. Students will be asked to wear their t-shirts on special days during the school year, such as quarterly assemblies and other special events. Parents will be notified in advance so that all children remember to wear their shirts. We are strongly encouraging that every student have one of our PBIS t-shirts to present school wide unity. They will be pre-sold for only $5.00 on registration day. Checks can be made payable to Stone Bank School. Stop by the PBIS table and we will help you get an order form filled out!!
Hot Lunch Program
Emergency Call System
Bus Transportation
Bus routes will be included in the family folders. We will be running 4 routes again this year. All district students are entitled to transportation to and from school each day. Open enrollment students wishing to utilize the bus service on a daily basis to a designated bus stop on one of the Stone Bank bus routes may complete a contract with Arrowhead District Transportation Cooperative for that service. The cost is $444.00 per child per year. Contracts should be completed before school starts. Forms will included in the family folders for those families.
Students wishing to ride the bus to a different stop on a particular day, must presents a parent note to the office for confirmation and signature first thing in the morning. Routes will be closely monitored for overage, based also on attendance for that day. Notes will be honored on a first come, first serve basis. Last minute notes or phone calls will not be honored, except in an emergency.
Open House
This year Stone Bank's open house will be held on Tuesday, August 30th from 3:00pm ~ 6:00pm. This is a time for the students and parents to meet the teachers and drop off school supplies in the classrooms.
There will be a meeting for the 5th grade students and parents in room 210 (Mr. Lyon's room) from 5:00pm - 5:30pm the night of open house. They will be going over expectations, answering question you may have and discussing communication throughout the year.
Books Wanted
This year our school will be implementing a new reading program called Readers’ Workshop. The Readers’ Workshop is a teaching method in which the goal is to teach students strategies for reading and comprehension. The workshop model allows teachers to differentiate and meet the needs of all their students. Over the course of the year, students will read many books. If you have gently used books that your child no longer wants, we will take them. There will be a table at registration next week to donate any unwanted books. Books of all reading levels are acceptable.
