What's Heating Up at Holy Spirit
October 12-16
In every thing give thanks: for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you. -1 Thessalonians 5:18-
Principal's Message
Families, thank you for working with us to keep our school a safe and healthy learning environment. We understand that following the AHS requirements can be challenging and exhausting on a family but because of the diligent efforts of each member of our school community we are ensuring Holy Spirit is a safe place for students and staff to learn and grow.
Our grade 4 students received their Bibles at a very special mass this past Wednesday at OLPH church. Father Jim reminded us that God always loves us and forgives us. He also explained that Bible stands for:

Before
Leaving
Earth
The students will have their Bibles throughout their educational journey to grade 12. The Bibles were a gift from the REAL Foundation.

Digital Citizenship
As we return to school and we embrace being with our peers and teachers and a full school community we also need to re-learn and support learning behaviors we haven't addressed in some time. At Holy Spirit school, our students will be engaged in opportunities to learn in different ways. One of these ways will be with the use of a device. In grade 4, one-to-one technology is fully integrated into many areas of academics.
With technology comes responsibility. Students have a responsibility to be positive digital citizens. What does this mean? " Digital citizenship encourages students to respect themselves, others and intellectual property, while at the same time learning to think critically about protecting themselves and others from harmful content and behaviors online."
In the next 4 weeks teachers will be focusing on digital citizenship lessons in their classes and we are looking for parents to support these lessons at home as well.
See the following link from our EICS website for tools to support Digital Citizenship at home. Parenting in the Digital Age
