Principal's Message
May 4, 2018
Dear Willink Families,
What a difference a week can make. On Sunday, we had snow and today it is 77 degrees! I hope you had the chance to enjoy some of the beautiful weather this week, either outside relaxing or taking in one of our Willink Titans athletic contests.
Our CARE-acter trait for May is trustworthiness. Please take the time to talk with your child about trustworthiness and how you demonstrate this trait each and every day. We will do the same. When our students see us modeling this trait, they can't help to model it too.
Last Friday evening, the 6th graders had an incredible time at "Neon Night". They danced, played in the gym, and listened to music all the while glowing thanks to the black lights, glow wear and the neon clothing. Check out the pictures later in this newsletter.
This past Wednesday was our annual open house for all incoming 6th-grade students. It was wonderful to meet our newest Titans and watch them begin to get acclimated to the building. Each hall had hands-on activities that introduced the various aspects of middle school life to the students. We would like to thank the WEB leaders and the 7th-grade ambassadors who helped guide families around the building. Additionally, we would like to thank the many staff that attended as well. Finally, I would like to thank Mrs. Anson, Dr. Berger, and Mr. McBride for all their hard work pulling everything together. They did an incredible job!
If you are looking for something to do tonight or tomorrow afternoon, check out our 4th annual student-run play. This year's production is Trouble in Paradise Junction. The students have done an outstanding job preparing for this weekend. See the flyer below for more details as well as show times.
Staff Appreciation Week begins on Monday and runs the entire week. PTSA has done a fabulous job putting together treats each day to thank our Willink staff for all they do. Thank you to all who donated goods to be shared with the staff this coming week. Willink is a fantastic school because of our dedicated staff. They work tirelessly to help all children learn and be successful. If a staff member or team of teachers have made a difference this year in your child's life, this would be a great time to send them a quick note of thanks.
PTSA is currently selling Bruster’s ice cream coupon books. They are $12.00 and include 2 BOGO coupons as well as several $1 and $2 off coupons. PTSA makes 50% off each sale. They will be for sale at all upcoming Willink concerts. (There will also be some select spirit wear items available too.) Cash and checks are accepted. Thank you for your support!
Have a great weekend and enjoy the lovely weather!
