What is it?
Socrative is an amazing website that can be used by teachers and students. It can be used to create online assessments. It can be accessed online through the internet or an app can be downloaded onto a smartphone or any tablet. This would allow students to complete task using a smartphone, tablet, laptop or desktop.
How can it be used?
Socrative can be used to create online quizzes. This allows students to take a quiz and receive immediate feedback. The accessibility of this app also allows students to do the quiz anywhere and anytime. This app is really versatile and can be used in many ways in any classroom. For example this could be used in a Grade 6 classroom as a study tools an upcoming Math quiz. A sample quiz can be uploaded and students can take this quiz anywhere and receive immediate feedback so they are aware of where they need to focus their studying.

Google Drive allows you to store and share files or pictures and access them anywhere at anytime. This allows a very easy way to share any files. This can also be access online via the internet, or an app can be downloaded to a smartphone or tablet.
How can it be use?
Google Drive would be a great to use in the classroom. Student can do an assignment at home and store it to their google drive and then just pull it up in class on a different device. For example in a Grade 6 class students can prepare a presentation on the diversity of Canada and save it to their google drive. Poll Everywhere allows you to create a poll that can be answered by texting an option to a number provided. This is a great way to include students in decision making and to get an answer or idea of where everyone in the class is, even those students who are shy and don't speak up.
How can it be used?
I think this is a great way to involve student in the decision making of the class and also to receive feedback as a teacher from the students. For example, Poll Everywhere could be used to make a decision about how student want to do a certain assignment. This way to students are involved in the decision making of the classroom and it allows them to use technology to make decisions. Fore example you could create a question like;
How would you like to complete this assignment?
a) PowerPoint Presentation
b) A blog
c) A video skit
d) A formal essay
This way you can allow the class to decide how to complete the assignment
What is it?
This allows students to create an online digital story. Students can take an old classic book, such as Little Red Ridinghood, and change it to create their on personal story.
How can it be used?
This would be a great way to have students create a story about themselves. For example at the beginning of the year, a teacher could use this activity as a way to get to know the students better. This would be an awesome way for the teacher to get to know the students individually and a great way for students to express themselves using technology.
What is it?
This allow students to create dialogue for Tom and Ben. They will then say whatever is written.
How can it be used?
This would be a fun and creative way for students to do a current events project. For example, you could have students as individuals or in groups research a current event and then have them present the current event as if it were being broadcasted on the news.
