God will fulfill His purpose for you!

"I will cry out to God Most High,

To God who fulfills His purpose for me."

Psalm 57:2

Hot Lunch Wednesday

Thank you, families, for providing our lunch again this week! Due to each family's participation, the first six lunches are free. If you've already paid, the funds will be set aside for October. Thanks!

Casual Dress Wednesday

The 8th grade class is planning ahead for graduation and class trip expenses, and is beginning to try various fundraising options. Here's a board-approved one that you may be interested in helping with, beginning this Wednesday!

The last Wednesday of each month (unless noted: example, November will be the last Tuesday) will be an optional casual dress day. For a donation (suggested: $5), students may wear casual dress, including, but not limited to, jeans. Donations must be turned in by that day, or students will be asked to change into uniform. Appropriate sayings and graphics are welcome. Please avoid celebrities and movie characters, per our handbook guidelines. Thanks! :)

Ziibiwing Field Trip Thursday

Thank you to those who are able to help drive to Mt. Pleasant this Thursday! If you haven't already received a permission slip, it will be sent home this week and should be turned in by Thursday. Cost and other information is available in the event list below.

Our Field Trip T-shirts have arrived, and we will be sending home your t-shirts on Monday/Tuesday so that they may be worn with jeans on Thursday. It should be easy to do head-counts in these bright shirts! :) If you haven't paid, we will let you know the total amount. Checks will need to be made out to Northview. Thank you!

Church Visit Tentative Date Change

We may have to adjust our church visit date for October due to a conflicting event on the 17th. We should have it confirmed this week, so please listen for a OneCall or watch for an email. If there are any dates that won't work for you, please let us know ASAP. Thank you.

School Uniforms

If you'd like to order more uniform attire, such as sweatshirts as the days gradually turn cooler, please call Creative Embroidery in Cadillac and order from them directly.

If you order sweaters or fleeces from French Toast (see below), you will need to have the school logo embroidered by Creative Embroidery for an additional $8 charge. Also, please note that sleeved, white crew neck, collared, or turtleneck shirts are the only option for undershirts. Collared shirts should be worn under jumpers.

Field Trip T-shirt orders have been completed. After the shirts arrive, I will remind those who have not paid online. Checks may be made out to Northview Seventh-day Adventist School for the t-shirts.

Dear Parents:

In the next few weeks, your child will be taking the Iowa Assessments®. Information about your child’s academic achievement is needed to help them excel and succeed. The Iowa Assessments make this possible by providing detailed information about your child in a variety of important content areas including Reading, English Language Arts, Mathematics, Science and Social Studies.

  • The Iowa Assessments help determine how students are performing on the state curriculum as described in the Iowa Core.

  • The Iowa Assessments measure student growth and progress from year to year.

  • The Iowa Assessments help teachers identify a student’s strengths and identify areas that may need additional emphasis. The assessments produce information that enable sound decision making and provide a focus for teachers to evaluate their instruction.

  • The Iowa Assessments provide information about your child’s performance relative to the school, the state of Iowa, and the nation.

Using the results of the assessment, we encourage you to work together with your child’s teacher to identify and address educational needs. The results will help prepare your child for the next step on their educational path.
