Thesis
The film The 33 teaches the reader that no matter the race, no matter where someone is from teamwork is always needed in big situations through the portrayal of when Mario took lead and helped them survive with the limited food supply they had, with the use of a medium shot camera angle.
Race is not A Matter
Mario resolved the race problem while they were stuck in the cave and the Bolivian miner was about to kill one of the miners because of an iPod. Mario stopped him and told them that what they were doing was not them, and that being down there was changing them and they realized what was actually going on and all came together to work together to get out of the mine.
The Altercation
The social construct of the film was that The other miners were taunting and messing with the Bolivian miner and were saying things to him like " I hear Bolivians taste like chicken" in the way of by the miners starving they were making it seem like they were going to eat him before they starve to death.
The film critiques this construct by showing one of the miners with a knife on top of the Bolivian miner with the knife to his neck saying" I hear Bolivians taste like chicken".
This scene shows my social construct because it shows the reader or audience that because of one of the miners being Bolivian most miners acted different toward him because of that.
Film Technique
The film technique that was used in this scene was a close up of the miner fighting with the Bolivian miner to show the intensity of the moment when the Bolivian miner was actually going to kill one of the miners because he was tired of being treated different because of his race.
Metaphorical image
This image represents different races lifting the world because if all races an all different types of people stick together, the world can be a better place.
