Class Placement Process
We will soon begin planning classroom placements for next year. Antelope Ridge is a great school for children because of our outstanding staff with varied experiences and teaching styles. Every staff member is committed to providing the best learning environment for every individual student. These experiences help our children be successful in any environment.
I would like to outline the procedures we will follow to assemble classroom placements for the 2023-2024 school year.
The current grade level teachers make placements as a team along with the input of other staff and specialists. Adjustments to these lists may be made if the need arises.
Class lists are based on multiple criteria: class balance; gender balance; academic strengths and needs; emotional/behavioral strengths and needs; leadership balance; friendship considerations; and other unique strengths and needs.
After the start of the school year, new students are added to classrooms mainly on a class-size basis.
Our goal is to create classes that facilitate a student reaching their maximum growth and academic potential. We feel we know your child very well in our school setting. However, we value your knowledge as a family and would like to take into account any unique needs of which we may not be aware. If you feel your child has unique needs that we may need to consider in their classroom placement, please write a letter to me describing those unique needs and also describe the educational environment in which your child is best able to learn. We believe we have excellent teachers in each classroom who can challenge, motivate, and inspire all children in a structured learning environment.
It is our goal to provide the best learning environment for all children. I’d like to request that you have your letters to me no later than May 5. Please do describe the best learning environment for your child and who your child is as a learner.
Thank you for helping make this a smooth transition.
