Teacher Appreciation Week

Please take a moment and send your child's teacher a note of appreciation this week! Our teachers are dedicated to providing your child with a great learning experience. Help us celebrate their dedication to our students!

Yearbook Distribution and Signing

Our yearbooks will arrive in May and be distributed on Monday, May 23rd. We will have a few extra books for sell on Monday. You will need to have $40 cash to purchase a yearbook. We have limited quantities. You can still make online purchases using MyPaymentsPlus for only $35 for this week.

8th Grade Celebration

We will have an 8th grade celebration on Tuesday, May 24th beginning at 12:30 PM. Students can provide their payment to Ms. Thelma Armstrong in the 8th grade office tihs week.

Local School Council Nominations

All nominations are due Friday. Applications are online on our website: www.jordanms.org. Students also had applications in their report card envelopes. This is a council for parents. Voting begins next week, both online and in the front office.

Award Ceremonies

Awards will be given to students who have had perfect attendance for the school year, all A's for the school year, and all A's & B's for the school year. A community, leadership and excellence award will be awarded from the homeroom teachers. Students who are being recognized will receive an invitation. The ceremonies will be held in the JMS gym during the school day.

Lunch Charges

Students will no longer be able to charge their lunches in the cafe, so please make sure your child's account has money or send money with your child daily. Please pay off your lunch charges in the cafe by April 20, 2016.

Students who do not have money to purchase a meal will be provided a peanut butter and jelly sandwich. If you have questions about the lunch program, please contact Mrs. Nancy Condon at 470-564-2845.

Dress Code

Please help us ensure that students are dressed ready to learn! Student jeans should be free of rips and tears from the thigh and higher. Students need to wear appropriate shoes. Slides pose a safety risk when traveling throughout the school. Dress code violations will be assigned Saturday School.

Fall Sport Eligibility

Students who want to participate in fall and winter sports at Jordan MS, Central Gwinnett High School, or another GCPS will have to be in good standing both academically and behaviorally during the Spring 2016 Semester. Eligibility for try-outs is based on this semester's report card and discipline history.
