A Message from our Principal...
Dear Jefferson Families / Queridos families de Jefferson,
Next week is Thanksgiving! We at Jefferson School have much to be thankful for. We are honored to work with your children each day, even if via zoom. Students are trying hard and are finding ways to make their school experience meaningful and productive. Each day they bring smiles, fresh ideas, and their earnest attention. They help each other and their teachers. We are grateful for our partnership with families and caregivers who are assisting students in day-to-day learning. The entire staff of Jefferson School wishes you and your family a peaceful and safe Thanksgiving holiday.
Warm regards,
Dr. Judy Floeter

These Are The Things We Are Thankful For....
- Having more communication with parents than ever before!
- Students have learned many new technology tools! They have also taught me as a teacher!
- I have learned so many more strategies using technology! I also feel that I have connected more with families this year.
- I'm thankful that remote learning has forced me to seek out more interactive and creative components to enhance the subject I teach... and keep it more current with events in the world!
- We are more appreciative of even the most minimal social interaction. We value each other's company, even though it's virtual, and are better listeners.
- I'm grateful for the opportunity to learn from my students in a new environment. I think I've learned more from them then they have learned from me.
- Love that we are making connections with students even with being remote.
- I am enjoying having new ways for students to show their learning!
- Every child in district having a Chromebook that can be used at home.

PARENTING WHILE GRIEVING DURING COVID-19 & BEYOND
We are all experiencing so many changes and losses within our day to day lives in this time of the pandemic. Along with the disruption of our daily routines, some of us may also be coping with the death of a person close to us. In an interactive presentation you will explore the ways that parents and adults can cope with their own grief and loss while also supporting their grieving children.
Some of the objectives you will learn are:
- Explore and identify healthy coping skills to care for yourself during stressful times.
- Identify ways to cope with loss together as a family during the pandemic and during the holidays.
- Discuss ways to help your child during times of grief and change.
Join Willow House's Program Director, Lauren Wozniak, LCPC, ATR for an engaging presentation and discussion.
