2020-2021 - A New Normal
Principal Message
Technology continues to be a challenge on many levels for a variety of reasons. We ask that as issues come up to communicate them with our teachers so they are aware of what students can see, hear, and do during instruction. Included in this edition we will share with you some resources for parents, provide updates on a few items, and share information on how we do some of the things at the high school.
During this time of remote learning, it is critical that we constantly check in on each other. Social and emotional wellbeing is very important during these times of isolation. Please make sure you are checking in with each other and reaching out to connect with others. It is normal to feel overwhelmed with so many changes in our daily lives and know we are all in this together. No one should feel they need to manage this on their own. If you need help navigating school or remote life please feel free to connect with your homeroom teacher and our guidance office staff including your counselor or social workers for help.
Please know that we are thinking of you and we hope that you are adjusting to this new "normal" as best you can. Stay strong, healthy, and safe.

The Power of Partnerships
To help us in this new "normal" we are asking that parents check with their students to make sure that they are not having any technical issues. We also ask that you check-in with your student to see how their e-learning is going, are they signing in during class, are they understanding the material, and are they turning in their work. The classroom is now extended into your homes and this partnership is vital for us to have a successful year. Teachers need to know that students are engaged in learning. In a remote setting, we need your help. I know my son is tired of me asking however I ask to see his assignments, homework, and projects daily. I help him when needed, unless its Algebra, then mom comes to the rescue!
As we move through this new chapter together please know that we are learning every day too. Your partnership with us at home significantly helps us to better serve your student. We know this isn't perfect and it will take time to find a rhythm - but together, I believe we will succeed.
Parent Community Liaison - Vanessa Mendoza
My name is Vanessa Mendoza and I am your Parent Community Liaison. I am very excited to begin this journey with you this school year. I look forward to working alongside families to become a partner in this year’s remote learning educational process. I am aware that each family has an individual story to tell. We have an open-door policy and I will be glad to assist you with any questions you may have. As your Parent Liaison, my goals are to motivate, empower, and assist you with any questions or concerns you may have. We will be offering virtual programs for you with your busy schedules in mind. There will be many opportunities to engage in programs this fall that will be available in English and Spanish.
