Carver Elementary Coyote Newsletter
May 2022
Dear Families,
May is a busy month, in fact I like to call it the 'work month' because there is so much we are doing to get ready for summer like getting our yards raked, landscaped and beautified for family barbecues and summer fun. At CES, while our teachers are teaching and our students are learning, we are also working on culminating activities that are meaningful and that showcase the hard work and dedication of everyone. We can't wait for you to see the students perform at the Spring Concert, view their art work next week at the school or watch them at field day, to name just a few upcoming events.
As I write this message to you, our hearts are heavy as we are absolutely devastated for the families that have been impacted by the senseless shooting in Uvalde, Texas. We wanted to make sure to provide you with additional resources that may be helpful as you partner with us to guide and/or process with your child about violence and tragedy. Our hearts are with everyone that have been impacted by violence and trauma. We also want to take this time to tell you how grateful we are to you for your ongoing support and the partnership that you give to Carver Elementary School. We know you entrust us with your children everyday and for that, we are truly grateful and we take this responsibility seriously. We are here to help if you need us. Please reach out to our counselors or building administrators.

3rd Grade Recorder Performance During “Evening of the Arts”!
Who: All CES 3rd Graders
When: Thursday, June 2nd between 5pm-7pm
Where: Upstairs Gathering Area (Next to the 3rd Grade Project Area)
REMINDER!
Make sure your child brings their recorder the night of the performance!
Why recorders?
The recorder is an invaluable instrument for improving all aspects of musicality and is an excellent pre-band instrument. Everything that we have taught them about music up until this point (rhythm, notes, staff, symbols, etc.) just “clicks” and makes sense once students experience playing an instrument. Every 3rd grader in the Carver Public Schools receives a recorder during class and may keep them at the end of the year!
Performance Schedule
Each class will conduct a mini-performance where students will share information about the recorder and play 4 songs together! When it’s not your performance time, make sure to check out the beautiful artwork around the building!
Burr: 5:15-5:30
Lynam: 5:30-5:45
Brown: 5:45-6:00
Lewis: 6:00-6:15
Macrina: 6:15-6:30
Swanton: 6:30-6:45
IMPORTANT REMINDER
Please remember that if you have any changes to your child's dismissal plan or an early dismissal, this information must be updated in Pick Up Patrol.
