It's Groovy to Be a Warhawk!
The Hall Way...
The start of this school year has been unlike any that we have ever imagined. Not having students navigating our hallways has been a bit surreal. Instead of hallways and lockers, students navigated Canvas, Google Meets, Conferences, and other programs for their classes. One thing about the start of this school year that is the same is the connection that our staff and students started making from the first minute in class. Whether it was a getting to know you activity or game, a Bitmoji locker, or just a chat about their summer, the Warhawks began building the strong bond that makes Northwood such a special place.
We hope our students are feeling more and more comfortable with remote learning every day. Whether it was a parent, older sibling, an aunt, a grandparent, or close family friend we are grateful for the support of our students and getting them off to a strong start for this school year. Please never hesitate to reach out if you need help with anything as we will find you the support you need. Warhawks take care of each other and we are here to work together and support each other. Welcome back to the Groovy 2020-2021 school year!

Remote Learning Plans
P.R.I.D.E. Groups
P.R.I.D.E. stands for Purpose, Respect, Independence, Discipline, and Excellence.
Each student is scheduled into a P.R.I.D.E. Group and this group provides a staff member that will be the students go to and a group of students that they will build a community with. These groups help to support the social and emotional learning that is vital during middle school and especially at this time.
P.R.I.D.E groups will meet at 8:30 am every other Friday on the asynchronous day and attendance will be taken for this class. Your student’s P.R.I.D.E. group teachers will either be their skills lab teacher or one of the PE or Exploratory teachers if they are in Band Choir, or Orchestra.
THE FIRST P.R.I.D.E. GROUP MEETING WILL BE AT 8:30 AM ON FRIDAY, 8/28/20. Please have your student go to their P.R.I.D.E. group course in Canvas for log in information.
Asynchronous Friday 8/28/20
Staying Connected: Parent Portal
You will be able to check your child’s academic progress, as well as attendance, school fees, etc. on the District 200 Parent Portal (formerly called Home Access). The Parent Portal will be active soon and login information will be shared with families. Please note that your student will also have their own login to check their grades and their teachers will guide them on how to access the system.
