The Booster Beat
January/February 2020-2021 Edition
As we begin second semester we see changes on the horizon; kids returning to school in hybrid format. There are some decisions being made at end of this month by county that will affect how this will look for band classes. Based on some studies they are looking at our teachers are hopeful that we will be able to fill the hallways of our schools with music again soon.
I recently had the joy of helping to distribute the Proud Band Family signs in yards to all band students in our school district. It has been great driving around town and seeing where homes are filled with the sounds of children learning their instruments.
The future of band in SPASD has been a focus of the board over the past year. We need to establish a strong foundation in students during middle school so they can grow beyond the notes every year in band. The board feels there are some changes coming at the middle school level that will impact the program in the future. I invite you review the documents and watch this short video for more details. https://youtu.be/CNuxDZF_b1s

Feed The BEAT
The Sun Prairie Band Boosters last year held our Feed the BEAT fundraiser with some local restaurants. We appreciate what they have done for us in the past and I ask if you will join me in supporting them now.
We are not asking for anything from them at this time, just want to give our thanks. If you want to mention that you are ordering because of their past support of the band program that would be fine.
Participating restaurants from last year were: Burracho's, Day One Pizza, Mooyah's, and Mod Pizza. Also keep in mind Dairy Queen who has supported our Jazz program over past years.
Stay in touch through our website and Facebook page for future deal nights with local restaurants.
