Hammerschmidt's Happenings
February 10th- 14th
The Week Ahead:
Friday 1/2 Day SIP Day
PLEASE NOTE- We will have another "Paired Pot Luck" Family Meal for lunch. See below for details.
Paired Pot -Lock - Family Lunch on 2/14/20
Here’s the idea: We’ll pair up different groupings of staff members and everyone will have their own mini-potluck lunch together. You’ll get a full hour for this, although you may elect to not use the entire time. I know it would be easier for us to not do this, for everyone to just eat with who and wherever you want, but consider this our school family’s version of making us all take a little time to connect with others. The pairings (also listed on the SIP Day Agenda) are as follows:
Family Meal Time (Paired Potuck)
- Kdg., Gr. 5, Savide, Brandel, Arndt, Danielski
- Gr. 1, Gr. 3, Corchin, Yirkovsky, Berman, Hervey, Dowel, Valdivia
- Gr. 2, Gr. 4, Born, Szatałowicz, Cihak, Erickson, Medhat, Koeller
- Primary SPAC, Specials, Elliott, Traficanti, Rudd, Trostle, Babincsak
You’re free to organize this further among your own group if you wish, but to keep things simple, I suggest that you don’t worry about who’s bringing a main dish, who’s bringing a side dish, etc… Just everyone simply bring a lunch, perhaps just a little bigger than normal, but that can easily be divided and shared. You’re free to bring whatever you wish, but if you have time and can manage it, I would encourage you to share one of your specialties or family favorites. I mean, if you’re having a potluck, why not show off some kitchen skills, right?

Favorite Memory of a recent school experience:
I was working on the kids school memory books and came across letters from Cammie and Gay Webb to Dono and Fiona with love. I went through activity/projects they did with Cammie, Gay, Annie, Kristin, Becky M & W, Cathi, Karen Egan, Shelly & Michelle. Many are still done - draw yourself, Chicago project, musicals, art projects etc. It was a great view of the excellent colleagues I get to work with and all the fantastic activities done over the years. Thank you.
Fondest Memory of your own elementary experience:
Making a plaster cast of my arm in 5th grade with Mrs. Truax at Butterfield.
