BBQ Volunteers Needed!
2022-2023 School Year - A Success!
- Hot Lunch Program - yet again a favorite!
- White Elephant Sale - this beloved Christmas event was yet again wonderful in so many ways!
- Read-A-Thon - our students read over 10,000 books between all who participated!
A HUGE shout-out to all of the parents/guardians who volunteered with hot lunches & events. We would not be able to run them with out your help!
We are in need of a Treasurer for next school year; as well as 4-5 more parents/guardians to be active participants in School Council initiatives. Please email us for more information! We are looking forward to expanding our council!

Extra Clothing, Shoes & Water Bottles
- Please ensure your child has a change of clothes in their backpack or locker.
- We encourage the children to bring water bottles to school if they haven't already to make sure they are hydrated when the weather is warm!
- Also - please dress your child weather appropriately for outdoor play each day; RUNNING SHOES are the most ideal footwear option for recess & outdoor physical education classes. Thank you!
Mothers' Day / Fathers' Day
As an inclusive school, we want to ensure all students feel comfortable, so we are very careful with Mothers’ Day and Fathers’ Day because not all students have a mother and/or a father, while other students have more than one mother and/or father.
It is not a comfortable feeling for a child to be in a classroom where Fathers’ Day gifts are being made if that child’s father recently passed, for example. To be told to just make the gift for an uncle or grandfather or someone else special just brings more attention (and potentially hurt feelings) to the situation.
Teachers usually know their students and who is in their families, so they can plan accordingly. For example, if a child has a mom and a stepmom, that child can make two Mothers’ Day gifts if she wants.
Feel free to ask your child’s teacher if he/she is making gifts with the class this year, and please understand if the decision is not to. It is up to the teachers to make the decisions they feel are right for their own students.

Breakfast & Lunch Program Donations
A huge THANK YOU to the many folks who help to contribute to our Breakfast & Lunch Program here at EJSMS! This program would not be possible without such wonderful community support!
- Rieley & Kim Kay - Cilantro & Chive
- Cobbs Bread - Timberlands (& Mme. Tanya for picking up the loaves each week!)
- Echo Food Rescue - a variety of produce & bakery items
- EJSMS Health Schools Committee - juice boxes & water bottles
- Panago Pizza - $237.36 from their Family Pizza Night Fundraiser
- Lacombe Alliance Church - sandwiches! Thank you so much to the members of the church who diligently make, pack & deliver sandwiches each & every week!
Thank you also to REMAX: Lori Hellofs & Sparkle Dance Festival for their generous monetary donations towards our breakfast/lunch program.
Our breakfast program feeds approximately 50 students per day! At lunch, we serve 20-25 students daily; offering anything from a full lunch to extra snacks. On Fridays, we run a nutrition program in which 4 classes each receive a healthy snack and a fresh fruit smoothie. We are so pleased to be able to extend these programs to our students; the value in them is immeasurable.
Ask The Principal
What is happening at the school for Pride month?
A couple of people have asked if we are doing any activities for Pride month. We are not doing any particular activities or lessons. However, at all times, our aim is that all children and adults are comfortable at our school. Everyone should walk in and feel included, welcomed and valued as members of the community, regardless of race, gender, age, orientation, language, etc.
Schools in Alberta are required to provide safe and caring environments for everyone, as indicated in Wolf Creek’s administrative procedure (AP 176) below. The six page document can be found in its entirety on the Wolf Creek website under ‘Documents.’
Safe and Caring School: A safe and caring school is physically, emotionally and psychologically safe for students and staff. It is an environment wherein everyone is accorded respect and dignity, and their safety and well-being are paramount considerations.
As always, just contact me if you have any questions or concerns. I am happy to chat.
