Principal Update
1/26/23

Dear LP Families,
Happy Thursday!
If you are a Bills fan, you were probably pretty disappointed with the outcome of Sunday's game. Both of my kids were lucky enough to score tickets; it was my daughter's first Bills game ever. I thought she would be pretty bummed by the loss, but she ended up telling me she had the greatest time. She told me all about the Bills fans and how great they treated her- they gave her blankets and bought her hot chocolate. It reminded me that there are actually really good people in the world and perhaps there is always a silver lining in crummy situations. Oh, to have the mindset of an 11 year old!!
In other news...you are receiving the newsletter a day early as there is no school for students tomorrow, Friday, 1/27; it is our School Improvement Day so only staff reports. We do, however, have a full week next week that ends with a pretty exciting PTA event: Glow Dance Party! Be sure to check out our PTA section for more information.
Have a wonderful weekend,
Dr. Bello
Weekly Highlights!
Creative Problem Solving! These students had a task in art class to create a structure that was taller than them! Our students did a great job solving tasks using art materials and their creative brains. | 4th Grade Ensemble This was the first week 4th grade band students came together as a group to play music. The energy was contagious; they were so excited! | We love cake! That face!! This student clearly had a good time decorating cakes and sharing with staff members. Yum!! |

LP PTA Needs Donations for Prizes/Silent Auctions
Happy Friday, LP Family and Friends!
We need some help from any of our LP family who owns a business locally.
The PTA is looking for donations of items that can be used as:
- prizes for our students
- prizes/gifts for attendees at our future events (we want to do some silent auctions)
They can be anything- gift certificates, books, toys, museum tickets, movie theater tickets, etc. All family friendly stuff of course- it can be for any age group since we will be using them for both children and adults. If you are one of these people please reach out to me via email khart@lumetrics.com
Thanks in advance for the help!

One more time!

Arrival- Morning Drop-off!
I was hoping the additional cones and signage would help support a safer morning drop-off but unfortunately we still have vehicles going around cars instead of waiting in line. This jeopardizes the safety of our students.
If you are familiar with picking up your student from school than this will make sense to you! We are going to move drop-off to the same location as pick-up, by the gym doors towards the back of the building. We will still have a single file of cars but I believe this will help keep traffic from backing up to Pardee Rd. with the additional space.
A few things to remember:
*Doors do not open until 8:20am.
*Do not drop your student off early. We do not have supervision until 8:20am.
*Students should wait in your car until you pull up to the gym door. We will unload students one car at a time.
*On average, there are 35 cars during morning arrival. This should not take long once families are used the routine.
*Do not go around other vehicles. You place our kids at risk of being hit by car.
As always, thank you for your continued support in making our procedures as safe as they can be!
