A Message from Mrs. Stauffer
Dear Rainbow Families,
This week Rainbow will be celebrating Red Ribbon Week. Red Ribbon Week was developed in 1988 to promote an awareness of the dangers of alcohol and other drugs. This special week was developed to honor the memory of Enrique Camarena. During this week, we will have activities to educate our students on drugs and the importance of making positive choices. Our goal is to increase awareness of drugs and the effect they can have on our futures. We want to help our students develop effective problem-solving and decision making skills for them to make safe and healthy choices. This week, we will stand together and show our school sprit by celebrating Red Ribbon Week Spirit Days.
We will be celebrating school and classroom Fall Festivities on Friday, October 28th. Your child’s teacher will be providing you will classroom Fall Festivities information. If you are donating a treat for classroom festivities, all treat donations must be store-bought items. Individual bags of treats or snacks are ideal!
Our Fall Festivities coincide with Red Ribbon Spirit Week. On Friday, October 28th, our theme is “Say BOO to Drugs!” Students may wear a costume to school to participate in “Say BOO to Drugs!” Spirit Day. Students can wear their costumes to school in the morning and enjoy wearing it all day! Because students will be wearing costumes all day, be mindful of costumes and bathroom usage. Please be sure costumes are school appropriate (no gore, weapons, or complete face coverings) If your child plans to wear any face paint it must be applied at home before the start of school.
We will be having a “Say BOO to Drugs!” costume parade at school. Students from Kindergarten-5th Grade will be showing off their costumes during a parade. Be sure that your student wears comfortable shoes and appropriate clothing because, weather permitting, the parade will be outside. If it rains, the parade will not be held. The parade will start at 2:00 PM. Families are welcome to come and watch the parade that will take place on the back playground. We ask that parents stay behind the yellow tape designating the parade route and that parents do not enter the building for parties unless they are a designated homeroom parent. If you plan on picking your student up from school immediately following the parade, an early dismissal note must be submitted to the main office the morning of October 28th.
Kind Regards,
Mrs. Stauffer

If your student is riding the bus, please have them at the bus stop 10 minutes prior to the arrival of the bus.
Parent-Pick-Up Notes: Thank you for having patience with us as we work to make our afternoon dismissal more efficient. Please help up with this by sending a parent pick up note into school with your student. You may send in a handwritten note or download and print the form below.

Message from the Cafeteria
Students are welcome to purchase milk for $0.75 during lunch. If a student would like to choose a milk, fruit and veggie (they are not required to take the entrée item), we can offer the complete reimbursable meal to them at no charge. Unfortunately, if a student selects just milk, we will have to charge it as an a la carte item.
