Message From Mrs. Robertson
Hello Lions!! Over the past week you should have noticed an increase in the amount of face to face virtual instruction. We are working on building student stamina to meet the requirement of 3.5 hours of teacher lead instruction daily defined by Maryland State Department of Education and the students are continuing to rise to the occasion! However, we know that our students need to move and take breaks which is why our staff are consistently monitoring students to determine when a brain break is needed. For some students these whole classroom breaks are not enough to support them so we encourage families and caregivers to provide these breaks as needed.
Teachers are also increasing the rigor and expectations as we move farther into the school year. In order to support students with content teachers will begin recording and posting their direction instruction for access at a later time. This resource will assist students and families with opportunities for reteaching and accessing missed instruction.
As the time and expectations increase we will continue to work together to support each other so that we can accomplish success for all of our students. No one can do this alone. We are here. We are ready. We are CMES!!!
Yours in education,
Kimberly Robertson

Beginning next week, math tutoring will be available for students. Grade levels have assigned days and times in order to provide consistency for students in a given session as each grade is working on different skills. These tutoring sessions will drop in opportunities for students to receive help with understanding concepts taught by their classroom teacher. Since these sessions are "drop-in" there may be a large number of students in attendance. We as for you patience and flexibility as we work to assist everyone who joins a session.
