Little Indian Updates
March Edition
Safety Updates.
At Vero Beach Elementary, our tribe is committed to ensuring every single child is safe and we are remaining vigilant. Our school has a secured entrance that does not permit access to our main campus. Over the next few months our entire staff will be given additional Professional Development and training on our early release days through a partnership with Indian River County Sheriff's Office. We are committed to strengthening our plan and continuing to create policy that keeps our school safe. Our employees are trained on how to respond in emergency situations, and our staff and our school participate in drills throughout the school year, with a safety team on site to oversee procedures and make necessary changes. Please be advised that we will be doing additional monthly drills to ensure our campus is safe and secure.
While I know we can never make sense of another unfathomable tragedy, my hope is that I can provide you with some comfort and reassurance that we are doing everything we can to keep our students and our employees safe. Your own vigilance, cooperation, and support help to create the safest possible environment for our children. The Indian River Sheriff's Office has established a tip line at 772-978-6116 or tips@ircsherrif.org. They are dedicated to investigate every threat or tip received.
Please don't hesitate to contact me if you have any questions or concerns about the safety of our school.
Most Sincerely,
Cynthia Emerson, Principal
