Terrence Eaton - FHSP College Career Instruction Code
Pursuant to HB 2804, and effective SY 16-17, Texas school districts will be required to report a FHSP College Career Instruction Code through PEIMS. This indicator will be used in the calculation of Domain 4 of the new state accountability system which will be previewed during SY 16-17, inclusive of A-F ratings. The calculation will be the count of 7-8 students who have a FHSP College Career Instruction Code divided by all 7-8 graders. Accordingly, we want most, if not all, of our 7-8 graders to have this code.
Below is the FHSP College Career Instruction Code definition:
FHSP College Career Instruction Code - Indicates whether a student in grades seven or eight has received instruction in preparing for high school, college, and a career that includes information regarding the creation of a high school personal graduation plan under TEC 28.02121, the distinguished level of achievement described by TEC 28.025(b-15), each endorsement described by TEC 28.025(c-1), college readiness standards, and potential career choices and the education needed to enter those careers.

ACTION ITEM: Superintendent’s Roundtable Meeting on April 19, 2016
Through Reyne Telles, Executive Director of Communications and Community Engagement Edmund R. Oropez, Chief Officer for Teaching and Learning
The Office of the Superintendent would like to invite a student representative and an alternate from your campus to meet with Austin ISD superintendent, Paul Cruz, Ph.D. Both students should plan to attend.
Attendees will participate in a student rountable with Dr. Cruz on April 19, 2016, from 5:30 to 7 p.m. in the board auditorium. Students must be in eighth-grade or high school. It is important that you identify students that have not participated in previous student roundtables. Provide the name and grade level of your student and alternate to Elsa Perez, at elsa.perez@austinisd.org no later than Thursday April 14, 2016.
Superintendent roundtables serve as empowering opportunities for students to engage district leadership in discussion about a variety of topics. We ask that you remind selected student participants to identify themselves by name, campus and graduating class when introducing themselves and/or being addressed by district staff.
Attached are sample letters to assist with your recruitment. If you have any questions about this meeting, please contact Beverly Reeves, Administrative Supervisor, Customer Service, at beverly.reeves@austinisd.org or 512-414-9882.
