Return to In-Person Learning Update
We are actively preparing for a gradual phase-in of our students for in-person learning opportunities. We will be bringing back some of our specialized and self-contained special education programming in a hybrid model on October 13th. The Return-to-School Task Force is still working out a phased plan that would begin to incorporate additional grade-levels in a hybrid model. We are diligently working to provide all of our students on-site opportunities, as soon as it is safe and feasible to do so.
Thursday, October 15th - Materials Pick-Up Day
Materials Pick-Up will be Thursday, October 15th from 9:00-11:00am and 3:00-5:00pm. Pick-up will take place in the same place (Activity Entrance.) It is very helpful when you have a sign with the last name and first name of the student(s), the grade level AND the classroom teacher's last name. We look forward to seeing everyone.
If your family gets their lunch delivered, you can either pick-up your materials on Thursday the 15th or they will be delivered with your lunch(es) on Friday the 16th.

Respiratory Medications in School During Pandemic
The current guidelines for schools advise the use of spacers with inhalers and to avoid the use of nebulized medications. Additionally, students who are self-carrying their inhalers will need to go to the health office to use their inhaler in order to prevent the potential spread of infectious disease. In an emergency situation students are encouraged to use their self-carry inhaler and then report to the nurses office. Please see the our Use of Respiratory Medications During Pandemic guidance for additional details. If you have further questions, please do not hesitate to contact your school’s health office.
Needs Books?
The BookHub is taking orders for another round of Library Books. Books will be available at the October 15th Materials Pick Up Day. Students can request books by placing specific books on hold thru Destiny Discover or by choosing themes and we will pick the books for you. Holds and Theme Specific Request forms can be found on the Library Websites.
Please return any books from the Spring and the September pick up date when you pick up your October materials. Any books not returned from the Spring will be considered lost after October 15th and book replacement fees will be added to PowerSchool.

Please Submit Your Child’s Medical Records
This year, District 34 is requiring that the State of Illinois Certificate of Child Health Examination and all immunizations required by the State of Illinois must be received before October 15th in order for your student to avoid exclusion. This paperwork is required for all Kindergarten students and new students to the district. Exclusion means that students who do not meet these requirements will not be allowed to attend school either in person or remotely until the proper medical paperwork is provided. Scheduled medical appointments are NOT acceptable in lieu of the required physical examination documentation. Please contact the health office with any questions at 847-838-8111.
