Band and Strings Announcement for 3rd Grade
Greetings 3rd Grade Families,
We would like to introduce ourselves as Ms. Leigh Schoepflin and Mr. Justin Canzano, the elementary string and band teachers in Marshfield. Recently your student learned about some of the instruments offered as part of the Marshfield Elementary Instrumental Music Program. The Instrumental Program begins in 4th grade and continues throughout their elementary, middle, and high school careers. In addition to this being a wonderful opportunity for your student to learn a musical instrument, learning an instrument promotes responsibility, listening skills, cooperation, audio and visual perception, coordination, discipline, and perseverance.
During the presentation, your student learned about different string instruments (those played with a bow), woodwind and brass instruments, and percussion.
Ask them what they learned and liked!
Ask them what they have heard at concerts, performances, and in class!
Find more recordings and information here: tinyurl.com/MPSDInstrumentalMusic
Registration for the instrumental music program is now open, with a deadline of June 1, 2022. Please use this link to register:

Next Steps
You will receive an email with your student’s instrument assignment before the end of the school year.
At the start of next year, we will provide information for renting an instrument from two of the local rental companies that will deliver instruments directly to the school.
If you want to preview rental information and pricing please check here:
Although renting through Goulet and ASNE is highly recommended, you are free to research and rent or purchase from a different company
Please do not make a purchase or rental until after instruments have been assigned.
Please do not make a purchase without confirming the brand/model with Mr. Canzano or Ms. Schoepflin. Some instruments are not suitable for student use.
Some school-owned instruments are available for use for families with demonstrated financial need. Please inquire with Mr. Kaminski, Coordinator of Music.
If you or your student has any questions, please feel free to contact us:
