PTA News

The PTA is so thankful for everyone’s participation in our “Kiss

the Cow” membership drive! We appreciate Mrs. Swann,

Mrs. Kerr, Mrs. Walker, and Deputy Drew for their willingness

to participate! We even had our Assistant Superintendent, Dr.

Downes drop by to grab a kiss from the cow! The kids had a

wonderful time cheering on the participants. We successfully

gained over 300 members! Check out pictures and videos of

our event on the CCPS Flicker account.

Please join us for our next meeting on Monday,

November 7, 2022 at 6:00 p.m.

Reading at home is so important! Reading at home helps

to increase your child’s fluency, comprehension and

vocabulary. The ability to read is needed in all subjects

and will be important for success in life. Want to help your child

become a better reader? Read to your child, read with your child,

or have your child read to you.

Look for books coming home with your child. If your child is not

bringing books home, reach out to your child’s teacher. Raising a Reader

bags are coming home to all pre k and kindergarten students. These

bags include great books to read to your child. Snuggle up and

enjoy a good book while helping your child succeed.

Budding Learners Club

We had such a great time celebrating with the Budding Learners Club members for completing their Reading/Math Calendars for the month of September! Students who earned the incentive had a fun time playing games and eating popcorn in the courtyard! For pictures of our fun event check out the CCPS Flicker account!

We look forward to having more students joining our club this month! In addition to our fun incentives in school, Tenchi is providing anyone who completed their calendars with free ice cream at their restaurant! Stop by Tenchi, grab a bite to eat and celebrate your child’s accomplishment with free ice cream! Thank you Tenchi for supporting our students! You must bring the coupon to the restaurant to redeem your free ice cream. The coupon will be sent home with your child the first week of November.

Healthy Habits

The PreK, Kindergarten, and first grade students of Greensboro Elementary School had a visit from the Tooth Fairy's Helper. She brought news of good dental habits, including steps to a healthy smile, and each student received a free dental kit.
