- Art: African American Quilt Guild will join Ms. Michelle all month in Art to teach students the art and history of quilting

Bulletin Boards- Update Yours by 1/31
Does your bulletin board have Halloween writing or Thanksgiving art?
Does your bulletin board highlight a tool that you taught several months ago?
Is your bulletin board have paper that is falling down, ripped, or drawn on?
Is your bulletin board just showcasing a worksheet?
Then it's time to do an update....
Please make sure your current bulletin board reflects current learning by 1/31/17. This is great job for a parent volunteer....
Keeping the Mini in the Mini Lesson
This article is focused on middle school, but it applies to our workshop context as well. There are great tips on how to keep your mini-lesson short and sweet so that your students can get to their small groups or independent work.

If you are signing up for a district offering, you need to do this via on track- Go to OUSD Intranet and log in and then find the Ontrack to sign up for your course.

PTA Money
As you have heard, due to ongoing budget concerns we have been asked to closely monitor our site funds. Fortunately we have a generous PTA who supports each of your classroom needs. You are all encouraged to submit your receipts and use your PTA funds within the next few months. If you are not planning to use your PTA funds, please let me or PTA know so that the funds can be re-allocated.
