Message From The Principal
Good Afternoon Stoller Families,
This time of year there is always great excitement surrounding different events to get the school ready to welcome students. I am especially excited to re-open our building to our Stoller community in a more typical-year capacity and to welcome you with this first parent newsletter. This coming school year at Stoller will look different - mainly smaller. Tumwater opening has been highly anticipated and a welcomed event. Stoller has been over capacity for many years and adequate space for our students has been limited. This coming year, we will all be in the building. No students will be in the portables. With the student population decreasing, we also have a smaller staff. I look forward to being able to host more events/activities that help us come together and build community.
As we gear up for pre-service week and get ready to welcome students, there are some dates and events I want to make sure you are aware of. Please note and save the date for our Ice Cream Social (information below). Also please note the first day for 6th graders is Wednesday September 8th, while 7th and 8th graders start Thursday, Sept. 9th.
As a parent, I am certain that safety is at the forefront for many of you. We will be following district, state, and federal guidelines to ensure that we keep students and staff safe. Currently the guidance is that all K-12 students and staff will wear masks inside the building and on buses. If there are any updates regarding guidelines, the district or I will be sending that out to keep you informed as soon as possible. Please make sure you visit the district website or read district emails regarding health and safety.
Please follow these links for more BSD Back to School Information, including a Back to School Checklist.
In order to help reduce the amount of information you receive from Stoller and the district, we will be sending out this newsletter biweekly.
If throughout the year you know about a unique student achievement to highlight, please email SMS-Communications@beaverton.k12.or.us
Welcome back to Stoller!

Stoller Volunteers
Welcome Stoller Volunteers!
Volunteering in the 2020-21 school year will be unlike previous years. Although we are unsure what remote volunteer needs will be, we invite you to create a volunteer profile or update your existing profile. This will ensure you are able to help Stoller staff and students through volunteer work as opportunities arise. A volunteer profile is required for all volunteering within BSD schools. Please follow the steps below to update or create your volunteer profile. Additional information is available at www.stollerpto.com/volunteer.
Existing BSD Volunteers (new to Stoller)
Please send an email to update_volunteer_locations@beaverton.k12.or.us and request to add Stoller Middle School to the organizations listed in your mVP account. Provide your full first and last name as it appears in your profile. If you will no longer be volunteering at an elementary school, you may also request to remove that school from your profile.
New BSD Volunteers
If you are a new volunteer to the Beaverton School District, you must create a volunteer account. This process includes a background check.
- Parent/Guardian: Complete the Parent/Guardian Volunteer Application
- Community Volunteer: Complete the Community Volunteer Application (This applies to Grandparents, Nannies, Neighbors, etc)
- Youth Volunteers: Complete the Youth Volunteer Application
Within the application, please include all of the BSD schools where you are a volunteer. You will have one profile for all your BSD volunteering.
- This step also initiates a background check. It will come up for renewal every 2 years.
- Once your background check is complete, you will receive an email from Stoller PTO stating your background check approval status, and your volunteer profile at myimpactpage.com will be active.
Thank you for giving your time and talents to Stoller this school year!
