Message from the Principal
Price Panthers,
Provided that Santa Clara County remains in the Red Tier by March 2nd, we will begin to implement our hybrid learning model. For those of you with a hybrid schedule, we anticipate returning to school with the following dates:
March 15th - SDC programs and 6th grade students
March 22nd - 7th & 8th grade students
All Price students (hybrid and VSP) will begin using the hybrid bell schedule for their classes on March 15th. Please check the schedule below. Teachers will be updating their Zoom links.
Students returning to campus will be divided into two cohorts to minimize the number of students in the classroom. This will allow us to ensure rooms can accommodate space for all students and staff while maintaining 6 ft. distancing. Students will be in different groupings in each class they attend. Due to the nature of the middle school schedule and the space requirements in each classroom, students will not be permitted to switch from their alphabetically assigned group.
Students with last names A-L (Group A) will physically attend their classes Mondays and Thursdays and will log in to each class for a minimum of 20 minutes on Tuesdays and Fridays. Wednesday will continue to have a first period check in and be used for asynchronous learning.
Students with last names M-Z (Group B) will physically attend their classes Tuesdays and Fridays and will log in to each class for a minimum of 20 minutes on Mondays and Thursdays. Wednesday will continue to have a first period check in and be used for asynchronous learning.
We are so excited to have you come back to campus! Teachers will be working with you in the coming weeks to go over new behavior expectations that match the county requirements. You should anticipate:
- wearing a mask throughout your school day (except when eating)
- remaining 6ft from your peers and school personnel both inside and outside (we have markings to help make this easy)
- entering/exiting school from a specific gate based on your class location
- bringing a water bottle every day as bottle fillers will be available but drinking fountains will not
- dressing in clothing that allows you to participate in exercise on your PE days as we will not be changing into PE uniforms this year
It will certainly be a bit different, but I feel confident it will be an improvement!
Sincerely,
Natalie Gioco
