Walter Dean Myers
Walter was considered one of the most preeminent writers for children, he wrote many great books such as Fallen Angels, Monster, Jazz, Harlem, etc. He had a speech impediment that made it hard for him to say certain words, so he instead used his amazing writing skills instead. These skills had paid off for him in the long run, sadly, Walter died July 1, 2014, but his legacy as a writer will carry on through the stories he wrote.
