Principal e-Note
Crestwood Elementary School
November 27, 2022
Note from Mr. Norton
I want my first e-note message to be one that takes a moment to reflect upon and honor my friend, Dr. Charity Schluter. Dr. S came to Crestwood school as our Principal during the summer of 2020. She instantly shifted our culture through her bright and cheerful love for our students! Dr. S led us through the ever-changing paces of a Global Pandemic and brought joy to our school every single day. We are so glad that Dr. S came to our school and it has been the highest honor to serve alongside her.
Our school will carry forward to serve students' needs and boldly share the kind of love Dr. has given all of us. Thank you Dr. S for your service to Crestwood!
In service,
Kit Norton
Crestwood Cares is back!
We are kicking off our holiday program, Crestwood Cares, on Monday, November 14. We have always been so thankful that your generosity has allowed us to support so many families throughout the years. We have an amazing community!
We will collect donations for our families through the Giving Tree-a Crestwood Elementary tradition! Each family will receive support for groceries, a family experience, and a gift. The items listed in the Giving Tree will be tailored to each family and their needs.
We also love to have the kids participate and so we will be having three "Fun Friday" events to collect donations (donation not required to participate). We encourage kids to do something helpful around the house to earn some money, or use their own money for these days. Collections will be made in their classrooms every Friday.
The Fun Friday dates are as follows:
Dec 2-Crazy Hat Day
Dec 9- Crazy Hair Day
A kickoff email will be sent Monday, November 14th from the counselors with the sign up genius link and any last minute details.
Thank you for all of your support. We'd also like to thank Jess Pauk for all of her help with this activity!

Staying Healthy During Flu Season
The holiday season means an increased risk for respiratory illness, but there are steps we can take to stay healthy.
Stay home when you are sick. This is the most important way to keep our friends and coworkers safe and protected.
Testing is one of our best tools to prevent the spread of COVID-19, along with getting vaccinated and boosted.
Learn when and how to take an at-home COVID-19 test here.
The CDC recommends that children age 6 months and older should get a Pfizer or Moderna COVID-19 vaccine. The CDC also recommends boosters for children age 5 and up, at least 5 months after their second shot.
The CDC estimates that between 6,000 and 26,000 children younger than 5 are hospitalized each year in the United States due to influenza. The flu vaccine is safe and helps protect children from flu.
Did you know? Improving ventilation in your home can help you reduce virus particles and prevent respiratory viruses from spreading.
Nominate a Special Lindbergh Teacher for #TeacherProud Tuesday
Calling all students, parents, and community members: Lindbergh Schools wants your nominations for #TeacherProud Tuesday! Tell us about a teacher who works in our schools who has made a difference in your life, and they might be selected to be featured on social media as part of #TeacherProud Tuesday, a statewide social media initiative that is designed to recognize outstanding teachers and promote public education. On the second Tuesday of each month, Missouri school districts will recognize a #TeacherProud Tuesday honoree for going above and beyond, and making a difference in the lives of students.
