Superintendent's Update
February 19, 2021
CCPS Community,
The inclement weather of the past few weeks has certainly created some challenges- virtual or F2F, synchronous or asynchronous, offices delayed or telework- all decisions that are new to our inclement weather process. Thank you to everyone for your understanding as we work to make safety-focused decisions for our students and staff. I am certainly looking forward to the warmer temperatures in next week's forecast!
Next week we will also expand our face-to-face learning to two-day cohorts. Schools have communicated with families regarding each student's information. Cecil County's metrics continue to trend in a hopeful direction and it is with cautious optimism that I say we are one step closer towards returning to "normal."
Sincerely,
Jeffrey A. Lawson, Ed.D.

Community Partner of Month
We are pleased to recognize the Northrop Grumman Corporation as February's Community Partner of the Month. As Thiokol, ATK, Orbital ATK, and now Northrop Grumman, the Elkton site of the organization has been a longtime supporter of our schools. They have served as curriculum and program advisors, are a highly-involved member of the Business & Education Partnership Advisory Council, and have supported a variety of STEM and Career and Technology initiatives. In addition, their employees are also active volunteers as capstone mentors, classroom speakers, program hosts, and more. Currently, they are a supportive partner in the school system’s efforts to develop a new Manufacturing Technology program at our School of Technology.
