Have you registered yet?

We still have families that have not registered for school. This is critical. Even if your child attended Shady Cove School last year, you need to log on and register them. To register go to your ParentVue Account or Click HERE for Online Registration information and to complete this process. Your child will be unable to attend the first day of school unless they are registered prior to August 31.

School Hours

Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday

Start 8:35 am*

End 3:25 pm

NO Early Release Wednesday

*Students are not allowed on campus prior to 8:17am unless they are riding the bus.

Breakfast and Lunch

All students will receive free meals again this year. There is no paperwork you need to fill out at this time.

Who is my teacher?

To find out your student's teacher log in to ParentVue. If you don't have a ParentVue account please click the link for how get one. For additional information or questions call our front office.

How will my child be picked up?

We like to have an organized dismissal so we can ensure our scholars are safe. Please inform your child how they will be picked up from school. Please remember, only guardians and people you have added to the emergency contact list can pick up your child. If you are a parent of a K-2 grade scholar please inform the office of how they are getting home. (There was an email that was sent out to you with a link to respond.) This is so important, especially the first week of school.

Drop off and Pick up procedures

Thank you for your continued support with our Drop off/ Pick up procedures. This goes pretty smoothly when everyone is following these procedures. Please remember, we put these procedures in place to help with the safety of all of our students. As a reminder:

  • Students are not to be on campus or dropped off before 8:17 am. (Gates will not open until 8:17 am.)
  • Adults are to stay in vehicles. (The only exception would be if you needed to buckle or unbuckle a student in a car seat.)
  • Have students exit on the passenger side for safety reasons
  • When dropping off/picking up you must go through the drop off line. Don’t park off to the side of the street or in a parking space and have your child walk to or from your car. (This is for safety reasons)
  • Pull up to the furthest Drop off/Pick up Zone.
  • There are 2 drop off and pick up locations (See table below for the drop off location of the classroom teacher.)
    • If there are multiple siblings they will be dropped off at the location of the youngest sibling. This means they may be walking across our campus and that is OK.

  • For safety reasons, if a student walks to school they will go to the closest drop off location so as NOT to walk on 62.
  • The tardy bell rings at 8:35 am and students should be in class.

Again, we want to thank you for supporting us with this.

Cell Phones

We believe that creating a classroom where we have fewer distractions will increase student learning along with helping to develop social skills. We are also aware that cell phones have become a major distraction to our students learning environment and for this reason we are limiting cell phones on campus. Students will not be able to use their cell phones in any instructional area on campus or in restrooms. Limited access to devices helps students stay focused on their learning and the learning of others.

Cell phones will be expected to be turned off and put away in their backpack or turned in to the teacher. (Teachers will share their policy with students and families.)

Although students will not be able to use their cell phone in instructional areas and during instructional time, students will have access to a landline for emergencies. If you need to speak with your child during the school day, please call the office, and we will make sure you are able to communicate any important information with them.

IPAD INSURANCE

iPad insurance is $25 per student. It may be paid through ParentVue or by sending check or cash to school with your scholar. We highly recommend this insurance. You never know when an accident is going to happen. If you have not paid the insurance then you will be responsible for the cost to fix or replace the iPad.

IPad insurance is an annual fee. If you had insurance for the 2022-23 school year it is still effective until September 5, 2023. During the 2023-2024 school year, EPSD9 will continue to offer optional iPad insurance to students and families. The annual insurance will be effective from September 5, 2022-September 3, 2023. The cost for the insurance is $25.00. Without insurance, students will be responsible for all repair or replacement costs. If your student did not have iPad insurance for the 2022-23 school year, students will need to bring their iPad to the office to verify the condition of the iPad prior to acceptance of your insurance payment. Please click on this link for more information on iPad Insurance.

PICTURE DAY

School pictures will be taken on Thursday, October 5th. All students will have their picture taken. If you would like to purchase pictures, please send your student to school with their picture packet and payment. You may also pay online at: MyLifetouch.com

CANVAS - PARENTS AS OBSERVERS

Eagle Point School District uses Canvas, a learning management system (LMS) to provide teachers, students, and families tools that enhance learning and communication both inside and outside of the school building. Teachers use Canvas to deliver course materials, contact information, and utilize the calendar feature, which puts all of your child's assignments and other important date information for all courses into one, color-coded calendar. Canvas helps keep a student's school life simple, as all course information is found within one tool, not scattered across many. How to access my student's CANVAS as a parent observer.
