COVID Health Information and Reminders - October 5, 2021
COVID Vaccination Record
Reminders
We are acutely aware of the abundance of COVID-related information you receive on a daily basis and how it can be challenging to keep current with the latest and most important information. The content of this newsletter is specific to COVID and brings to your attention what we consider to be most important. The newsletter also contains links to our COVID website which is updated on a regular basis.
If you have any questions, I encourage you to contact your school health office or your primary care physician.
Our staff are dedicated to preserving the health and safety protocols we have worked so hard to establish and we closely monitor the public health data. It is imperative that we stay diligent to best health practices established in order to protect our community and want to take this opportunity to remind everyone of a few important things:
- Please send your student in daily with a clean face mask and pack an extra in their backpack.
- Students aged 12 and up are eligible to receive the COVID vaccine. Mansfield Public Schools will host a COVID-19 Vaccination Clinic at QMS on September 30 and October 21 for all eligible students. Students ages 12-18 need a parents/guardian consent. Please reach out to your school nurses or your primary care provider if you need assistance in finding a location to get your student vaccinated.
- It is imperative that you talk to your student and ask them how they are feeling on a daily basis. Please refer to the symptom checker. Not all symptoms are COVID, but we still encourage students and staff to stay home when they are sick and contact their primary care provider for guidance on testing.
- Remind your students to dispose of their worn or broken masks appropriately. Our school grounds and Memorial Park are littered with masks on a daily basis. Trash receptacles are widely available.
In addition,
- Testing will not be done at school for students who, upon arrival to school, are presenting with multiple symptoms. Those students will be dismissed and referred to their primary care provider for evaluation and recommendations on testing.
- Students with multiple symptoms in any category should be kept home, monitored, and referred to their primary care for evaluation and recommendations on testing.
- Please refer to the symptom checker for acceptable COVID tests. At home antigen tests are NOT accepted for return to school.
