September Is Here!

Well the first week of school has come and gone and we definitely hit the pavement running-- complete with an unscheduled fire drill at dismissal time on Friday (whew)! It truly is so wonderful to have our kiddos back in the building again.

Thank you to our Mt Vernon families for your continued patience at drop off and pick up time, and when trying to reach office staff during the school day. We are definitely scrambling as we settle into new routines with an increased enrollment from last year and the continuation of our COVID health and safety protocols.

In order to comply with state and local health protocols:

  • PLEASE use Horace St when dropping off and picking up (NOT FILBERT LN)
  • Notify the office no later than 2:00 p.m. if you are picking up your student on any given day and your student usually rides the bus
  • Please remain in your vehicle to drop off/pick your student up unless you are walking to/from school with your child
  • Beginning Monday, 9/13/21, only kindergarten parents will be allowed to walk their students to the classroom door for their first day with new teachers
  • On Tuesday, 9/14, only parents whose students are starting their first day of school at MTV will be allowed to walk their students to the classroom door
  • All student medications to be taken at school should be brought to school and signed in by an adult. Please make an appt with the office to do this.
