PARK PENCIL POINT NEWSLETTER
September 14, 2023
The mission of the Chardon Local Schools is we commit to high achievement for all students.
From the Principal Desk—
Hello Hilltopper Families:
On Tuesday, we held a full-school lockdown drill. Students and staff were told about the drill in advance, so it was not a surprise, and teachers could prepare their classes. Chardon police officers assisted in the drill and were complimentary of our Park staff and students for a job well done! We will do a total of four lockdown drills this school year. We also conduct monthly fire drills as well as tornado drills in the spring. Park staff and Chardon safety forces carefully plan our safety drills to ensure that students know exactly what to expect and most importantly, they feel safe and prepared for any situation. Our school guidance counselor, Mrs. Barnett, visited each classroom today to discuss the safety drill with students. If you have any questions about our safety drills, please contact me.
Thank you also for your continued support and cooperation as we implement our new pick-up procedures for walkers and car riders. We appreciate you having your PINK pass when you pick up your child, especially on days when we have substitute staff in the building.
Sincerely,
Mrs. Makee
Mrs. Force's class made cards thanking our Chardon Police Department and First Responders. We appreciate everything you do!
