George School's Family Update

September 16, 2017

What a Great First Full Week!

The children had wonderful week of engaging lessons and participated in many hands on activities as they enthusiastically dove into learning. Many thanks to our staff as they facilitated these child centered learning opportunities. This year we have many new curriculum initiatives that the teachers have enthusiastically prepared through collaboration to support our community of learners. I look forward to seeing all of you at Back to School night on September 26th where you will hear more exciting details about our new and continued curriculum initiatives. Thank you for your support in getting our school off to such an incredible start. It's a great day to be a Cardinal!

Spirit Day, Tuesday 9/12/17

We had a fantastic first George School Spirit Day where we welcomed our 5th grade Peer P.A.L.S. Our younger students can look up to these school leaders to demonstrate exemplary Character Traits, such as: Trustworthiness, Responsibility, Respect, Caring, Fairness, and Citizenship. During our assembly we discussed how 'Leadership Starts Here' and how each day students have an opportunity to make a difference.

Welcome Ms. Rachel Guyt

George School Guidance Counselor

We are fortunate to have Mrs. Rachel Guyt with us at George School as our full time Guidance Counselor. During our George School Spirit Assembly, Mrs. Guyt explained our Kind Cardinal Ticket program and how each student may earn Kind Cardinal tickets for exemplary behavior. This year all of our Kind Cardinal Tickets are red and will go into our Cardinal Movie Ticket Taker to earn chances at individual prizes and class prizes. We are also all working toward a Grand Prize George School movie party. We are happy to welcome Mrs. Guyt!

If you are in need for free or reduced cost lunch, you can find the application on the district's food services website:

A Few Details regarding Parking and Safety

Please do not park in the numbered spots in the parking lot. Many of our teachers travel between our schools and need to park when they arrive. Unfortunately there are no visitor spots due to our increase in teaching staff. Also please do not park in the fire lane for safety reasons.
