Very truly yours,
Jim Lavender, Superintendent & Interim Principal
Stefanie M. Fox-Manno, incoming Principal

Steve Ottinger, Assistant Principal (Gr. 9)
Transition Camp for Freshmen and Incoming Students – DATE CHANGED TO AUGUST 22 or 30
Kingsway’s Student Transition Camp for freshmen and incoming students is scheduled for August 22 or August 30 from 8:30 to 11:30 am. Students are encouraged to attend only one session and should bring their Chromebook. To register for this event, click HERE.
PE Uniforms Now Available for Purchase!
Kingsway requires all students to wear a uniform while participating in Physical Education. You may pay for your child's uniform in advance. Uniforms will be distributed by PE teachers at the beginning of the year. You do not need to select a size when placing your order as our teachers will assist students in selecting the right size. You can order uniforms by completing the PE Order Form and sending it in on the first day of school or high school students may purchase uniforms at the school store. A more convenient option is to pay via PayPal or credit card by clicking HERE.
Student Dress Code Policy - Parent, Student & Staff Memo
We have taken time to examine our student dress code policy and the impact it has on students, staff and the overall school environment. Please take the time to review the Student Dress Code before school reopens on September 7. Click HERE.

Student Chromebooks: Expectations for the 2022-23 School Year
Our 1:1 Chromebook initiative supports student learning in and outside of the classroom. The district-issued device is part of each student's necessary classroom supplies, similar to a pencil, book, or paper. All students are expected to attend every class, every day prepared with a fully charged, district-issued Chromebook with the charging cord. We highly recommend designating a location in your home for the device to charge at night and to be easily placed in the student's backpack in the morning. Establishing this routine from "Day 1" is critical. Click here for more information related to our Chromebook expectations.
Late Bus - 4:15 p.m.
Please be advised that the late bus will run at 4:15 pm during the 2022-23 school year. There is no longer a 5:45 pm late bus.
School Lunches will cost $4.00
The federal government has ended free school meal benefits. School lunches will cost $4.00 for the 2022-2023 school year. If you feel that you may be eligible for meal benefits, applications are posted on the school website under the food service page or you may request one by calling the food service department at 856-467-3300 x4226 or 4227. You can easily access this application by clicking HERE.
Teacher Start Times/Bell Schedule
This school year high school teachers will report at 7:29 am and be dismissed at 2:44 pm during a regular school day. Student arrival/dismissal times are unchanged. The reason for the slight adjustment is to ensure better alignment with middle school teacher arrival/dismissal times.
High School Construction
Steady progress continues to be made on the new Student Center and Wellness Center (formerly known as the North Media Center), new science lab in the 100 wing and HVAC upgrades. We apologize for the inconvenience construction has had on our staff and visitors but we are excited to see the completion of these projects in time for the start of the school year. We will keep our school community updated as the project continues.
Student Bus Passes/Information
Be advised that student bus information will be mailed home to incoming 7th to 12th graders the week of August 26th.
Summer Assignments
This is just a reminder that the 2022 Summer Assignments for Kingsway Regional Middle School and High School are now available on each school's website. To access the assignments, click on the For Students tab at the top of the page and click on Summer Assignments on the left of the page. Or, you can access both middle school and high school summer assignments HERE (find on the left).
Universal Screener
Since the 2017-2018 school year, the district has proactively captured social, emotional, and behavioral needs of our students through a universal screening process. All students (Grades 7-12) are provided with a brief wellness screening survey, two times per school year. The Behavioral and Emotional Screening System (BESS) is a brief wellness screener that includes a student self-report that takes approximately 5-10 minutes to complete via an online platform. Kingsway will continue the use of this screener to proactively collect comprehensive, accurate, and reliable information about students’ perceptions of their own well-being.
Please note that this survey will not be used to determine the presence of mental health problems or eligibility for special education programs/resources. The results will be used as one of many data sources to determine the need for social, emotional, or behavioral support for our students. Our goal is to provide proactive, evidence-based resources to those students who may benefit. As a parent, you might be contacted and offered various options of support.
Please click here for more information regarding our universal screening process. This survey will be taken at school during the week of September 12th. You may choose to opt your child/children out of participating in the brief wellness screening by emailing me at philippr@krsd.us by 2:45 pm on September 8th.
