Dear Everitt Families:
The sounds of very excited and energetic 6th graders are currently floating through the hallways as our students enjoy the 6th grade dance. They will be exhausted tonight! Thank you to all of our staff members and parents who provided supervision for our 6th grade Glow in the Dark Dance this evening and our 8th grade movie night last night. And a huge thank you to our Sources of Strength students for planning these fun events. We are proud of you.
Speaking of pride, there is more to be proud of this week. Our 6th, 7th, and 8th grade boys' basketball teams each won their first game in the playoffs this week, our symphonic band earned an excellent rating at the Middle School Band Festival, and we had a student represent our school at All-State Choir!
On Monday, the grading window will close for the third quarter and teachers will post grades. I will send a message to all families on Monday afternoon reminding you to check Infinite Campus/Parent Portal to see your child's grades for the quarter. The grades are a snapshot of this moment in time and will continue throughout the semester. Our fourth quarter begins on Monday!
At Everitt, 6th, 7th, and 8th-grade students will be taking the CMAS reading and math tests (or CoAlt tests) during the week of April 4-8 and our 8th graders will be taking the science tests during the weeks of April 11-15 and April 18-22. If you would like to opt your child out of CMAS or CoAlt testing, please send me an email letting me know. See below for our CMAS schedule.
Next week, our wonderful musical theatre students will be presenting Shrek the Musical! Join us at Wheat Ridge High School on March 17th and 18th at 7:00 pm for just the right mix of amazing costumes, fabulous performances by Everitt kids, wonderful sets and props, and some middle school humor!
Thank you for supporting and believing in your neighborhood school. It is our privilege to partner with you!

Lunch Bunch and Thursday Morning Volunteers:
Want to lend a hand at the school? Sign up to spend some time socializing with the students during lunch and recess or on Thursday mornings before late start. Thank you in advance for donating your time and making our community stronger!
Lunches are broken up into 3 sections. With some exceptions, they are generally 6th graders 1st, 7th graders 2nd and 8th graders 3rd. Each lunch is 30 minutes. On Mondays, Tuesdays and Fridays they run one after another, on the block days of Wednesday and Thursday there is a 10-15 minute gap between lunch sections. If you want to come for just one or 2 sections that is no problem, but you are also welcome to stay the entire lunch time!
When you arrive go to the main office to sign-in and fill out volunteer paperwork (the first time only) and then head to the cafeteria or library. You can bring an activity (like a football, 4 square ball etc) or just join in with what's going on!
Questions? Email everittpta@gmail.com or call 720-291-1435 (Dan Weinstein)
Sign up for Lunch Bunch here!
Speaking of lunch, we would love your help in providing fun things for students to do during both inside recess (on inclement weather days) and outside recess. Here is a sign up genius if you would like to help!
Our next PTA meeting will be Wednesday, April 6th from 6:30-7:30 pm. It will be followed by SAC from 7:30-8:30 pm.

More information and permission slips will be handed out in classes next Monday, March 14th and due next Friday the 18th.
We are also in need of parent volunteers to chaperone this field trip. If you are interested in chaperoning or have any questions please reach out to our counselors Kelsey Cockrell Kelsey.Cockrell@jeffco.k12.co.us or Kirsten Aronson Kirsten.Aronson@jeffco.k12.co.us
