February is Black History Month

Let's Celebrate Black History reading with our students stories of African-Americans overcoming adversity and making their multicultural mark on the world. There are many rich biographies and themes to explore with children during Black History Month!

Our librarian can help you choose a variety of titles appropriate for your kiddos's ages.

Spring Clubs

Spring Clubs start on Monday, February 3rd. If your child attends a club, make sure to send a snack with them on the day they stay after school. And make sure to be on time to pick them up!

Counselor's Week

February 3rd through the 7th is National School Counselors Week.


Take a moment this week and thank our wonderful Mrs.Green for all the hard work and care she gives Lipscomb every day.

Watch D.O.G.S. Kick-Off Party

Our school is kicking-off the Dads of Great Students, or Watch D.O.G.S. Program on Thursday, February 6. This program gives dads an opportunity to participate at the school to spend time in your kids' classroom and help out with things like drop-off and other school needs.


Join us to enjoy some pizza, meet other dads, and become a member of the Watch D.O.G.S.!

2019-2020 Yearbook Meeting

We will be having a planning meeting for our 2019-2020 Yearbook on Friday, February 7th, 3:00 p.m. in the library.


This is a special yearbook that marks the generation of students attending school when our building turns 100 years from the first stone. One year before the Centennial of Lipscomb Elementary serving our community!


Everyone is invited, including students interested in helping with the 2019-2020 yearbook.

National Random Acts of Kindness Week

This year our school is celebrating the National Random Acts of Kindness the week of February 10 through the 13th.


The goal of the National Random Acts of Kindness Week is to change schools, the workplace, families, and society through kindness.


The Random Acts of Kindness Website has ideas and all kinds of inspiring stories and ideas of random acts of kindness.


Experts assert being kind to others benefits you in a variety of ways.


  • It fuels personal energy and self-esteem
  • It makes you happier.
  • It's good for your heart.
  • It helps you live longer.
  • It decreases the harmful chemicals in your body


We will engage students and create awareness, wearing fun clothes that week!

Friendship Rules the World

Our students will be having celebrations in the classrooms on Thursday, February 13th.

Friday, February 14th is a Professional Development day and school will not be in session for students.


Expect a flyer or a note from your students' teachers about the specifics of their classroom celebrations.

Eat at Liberty Burger on Wednesday, February 19th and mention our school!

They will donate 10% of Lipscomb specific sales to our school. So, be sure and tell your server you are there to eat and support Lipscomb Elementary.

Talent Show

Our wonderful music teacher will be hosting Talent Show Tryouts in the coming weeks. For an audition form, please see Ms.Mora.


Our talent show is scheduled for Thursday, February 27th at 6:00 p.m.

Growth Goals Reward Party

Friday, Feb. 28th, 12:30pm

Lipscomb Auditorium

Our school needs volunteers to chaperone students during a movie they will watch in the auditorium.


The students that have reached their academic growth goals will get a ticket to this special event!
