All the news Canyon View Families Need!

President's News

Can you believe September is almost over and we are already planning Canyon Boo! This past month we celebrated Grandparents Day with our kindergarteners and first graders. Participants in the Canyon View Book club chose three great books, "Bunnicula", "Hatchet" and "Tuck Everlasting". Geography Bee is well into its second week and Spelling Bee is close behind. STEAM Club continues to wow both students and parents. Our hope is that everyone has something to choose from in our offerings. Please take a few minutes to participate in the attached survey to help us better understand what you need from the FFO. How you would like to receive our news, what do you want to hear about, and when you would like to attend our FFO meetings. Thank you for your support of Canyon View Elementary.

Box Tops and Soup Labels, This isn't your Grandmother's fundraiser!

Clipping these tiny little squares may seem like a waste of time. I am sure many of us have a little pile on our counter that occasionally get scattered around the kitchen. These little pieces of paper add up to big money for our school. Our Box Top contest will run until the end of September, with the class who turns in the most box tops winning a snow cone party. Please turn in all box tops and soup labels to your child's Homeroom teacher. The winning classroom will be announced at the end of the month!

Spelling Bee is back again!

Participation in Spelling Bees builds and strengthens communication skills acrossall academic disciplines, encourages confidence in classroom presentations, increases attention to detail in assignments, and promotes self-directed learning.

New Leadership for the 2015-2016 School Year

Each school year, parents step up to make a difference in their child's school. Next school year, Canyon View FFO will be welcoming new parents to many different positions in the FFO. The executive board will consist of a new President, Vice President of Volunteers and Secretary. If you are interested in any of these positions, please contact Renee Griffith at reneegriffith@me.com.

eScrip program expands beyond grocery stores to Nordstroms!

eScrip is proven to be a fantastic resource for fundraising where participating business partners contribute a percentage of your grocery loyalty cards, credit card, and debit/ATM card purchases to the school, group or organization of your choice.

Here's How it Works

You register any one or all of your existing grocery loyalty, debit and credit cards for use in the program.

Participating merchants will make contributions to your chosen group, based on purchases made by you, just by using the cards you have registered.

Your purchases are tracked and available to you online, allowing you to see just how much you are earning on your child's behalf!

Double the Donation

You've already done the hard part - now let's make it count for twice as much. Don't let the additional funding from these corporate donations go untapped!

Tracking and conveying matching gift information from your employer can be frustrating. Let us do the work for you. Submit your gift to the Canyon View Family Faculty Organization (CVFFO) either by check or online at http://www.cfsd16.org/schools/canyonview/. Canyon View FFO will provide all the necessary information to you for your employer's matching gift program. Every dollar donated makes a huge impact on the programs offered to your children. Please contact Laura Baragar at dbaragar@cox.net . Thank you for your support of Canyon View Elementary. Raytheon, Bank of America, Freeport McMoRan Copper and Gold, IBM, Intuit, Texas Instruments and Wells Fargo employees are regular contributors to the CVFFO Direct Donation Program. These employers have matched their employees donations benefitting Canyon View families to the tune of $2000!
