October 30 Community Newsletter
Dear parents and Guardians,
Junior-Senior High students participated in Red Ribbon week daily themes. Participation was extremely high! Monday, Junior High School will have a Halloween costume contest!
Please join us for the unveiling of a powerful mural that connects the Black history of our town to a hopeful future of justice, inclusion and diversity. Students and community members will be invited to add their voices to this interactive mural. This will take place on Friday, November 4th from 10:45 am-11:30 am.
Woodbury's annual "Boo at the Woo!" family event occurred on Thursday night and was a resounding success! Junior-Senior High students and club advisors transformed our low lot into spooky stops along a trick or treat pathway. Elementary-aged children accompanied by their parents participated in the activity and really enjoyed themselves. A large amount of canned goods were donated during the event and they will go towards the local food bank and supporting families who may need it during the upcoming holiday season.
Finally, our football team won their first round playoff game this weekend! Go Herd! This week featured an amazing student. I hope you enjoy the video.
In Partnership,
Principal Taylor

School Events
PEC's first annual Pumpkin Carving Contest was a smashing success! Students had a blast working individually or in teams to design and carve the best pumpkin after school on Friday. Students worked hard well into the evening to make the best pumpkin. As with all that they do, their work is truly impressive. Shout out to PEC members and the Science Department's Lab Technicians for their hard work in making this happen.
Please encourage students, the community, and staff to vote for their favorite pumpkin by the end of lunch on Monday! Here is the voting link. The pumpkins will also be displayed throughout the Science Hall (C200) on Halloween for everyone to come and check out. The Winners will receive a 3D-printed pumpkin designed and made by PEC members. Here is a link to photos from the event.
