2021-2022 Calendar Changes
Please see the message from our Superintendent Dr. Finnerty that was sent out yesterday 1/12 regarding this year's calendar changes:
Hello PGSD Community,
Last night, our Board approved a revised 2021-22 School Calendar. The approved calendar differs slightly from the version that I shared with you last month. In that version, this Friday, January 14, 2022 was scheduled to be an Early Dismissal 2-Hour Act 80. Due to concerns about how near we are to the January 14th date and the difficulties of arranging child care, we moved the Early Dismissal 2-Hour Act 80 day to February 18th. This Friday, January 14th will be a full Student Day.
I have attached the Staff Calendar and you can view the Student version of this year's schedule and next year's schedule on our website.

COVID Information Update
PGSD will continue to follow our Health & Safety Plan which requires all staff, students, and visitors to mask while the Level of Community Transmission in our District is in High or Substantial. Currently, as shown on our COVID Dashboard, PGSD’s Level of Community Transmission remains in the High category.

Outdoor Recess Reminder
Now that the weather is cooler, please have your child dress appropriately for outdoor recess each day. As we enter the winter months, a heavier coat, hat, and gloves are recommended. Students will still go outside for their recess periods if the temperature or wind chill is above 20 degrees. Thank you.
This upcoming month, our school-wide theme is problem solving. In our morning announcements and class meetings, we will be reminding students to use the Second Step Problem-Solving Steps:
- S: Say the problem
- T: Think of solutions
- E: Explore consequences
- P: Pick the best solution
The goal is to help students learn problem-solving skills so they are capable of handling situations respectfully and effectively. When we can reinforce successful use of problem-solving skills, students will be able to use these skills across all settings.
