STAFF WEEKLY UPDATE
4-27-20
GOOD THINGS:
- National Showcase Status-- Congratulations to our Sheiko School Community!
- Our overall attendance average is 93.3%. Keep encouraging our students and applauding them for their hard work.
Monday Message:
Leadership isn't easy...sometimes your HEART work is HARD work! Especially now. The Coronavirus has upended life for everyone. We have never faced a situation where nearly ALL students will be coping with trauma from extended social isolation, potentially sick loved ones, or an unknown immediate future. Teaching is no different...you have pivoted to online instruction with little time for preparation and finding new ways to support and engage students all while attempting to adapt to the realities of this crisis. In a world turned upside down, we are ALL facing a new challenge. As a leader, it has never been more important to lead with empathy. Alfred Adler, a psychotherapist, captured the essence of empathy when he said,
"Empathy is seeing with the eyes of another, listening with the ears of another, and feeling with the heart of another."
The simplest acts of kindness, compassion, and empathy are felt profoundly in times of uncertainty. No act is too simple. No service too small. Now is the time to not just lean on each other…but lean into each other.
HAVE A GREAT WEEK!

We Love our Students, which is why we’ve figured out a way we can still have class and you can all sing, dance and act your little hearts out from your own homes!
While we know getting to meet in person is definitely what we all wish we could do, this is a great alternative to getting to socialize, keep doing what you love and respect social distancing.
Students will learn musical theatre, acting, singing, dance and more! Students will have so much fun taking a break from their “new normal” and join kids from all over to play theatre games, become characters, sing and dance! Students will work on Scenes, Songs, and Dances from “101 Dalmatians“.
Students will be cast in multiple scenes and get to play multiple characters, something they’ve never gotten to do with us before! There will be no final performance, but we encourage our students to share what they are learning with their families each class! Excellent for both boys and girls and students of all levels!
