Wrestling Parent Meeting: Friday, November 3rd @ 6:00pm in the Media Center
There will be a parent meeting for all wrestlers and fall sport athletes who are planning to come out for wrestling when your fall sport is completed. Parents, this meeting is MANDATORY as information will be shared with you regarding the expectations and needs for your child's success. Literary Team Information:
The Literary Team is getting organized for the 2024 season. If you are interested in competing in public speaking, essay writing, dramatic performance, or classical singing, please come to our organizational meeting immediately after school on Thursday, November 2nd in room 206. For more information, see Mr. Martin.
Congratulations to the following swimmers for their point-earning performances at Thursday's meet in Ware County:
- Jet Townsend- 2nd place in the 100 freestyle and 4th place in the 50 freestyle
- George Breed- 4th place in 100 breaststroke
- Boys Relay Team (Anthony Coronella, Morris Lewis, George Breed, and Jet Townsend)- 5th place in the 200-freestyle relay
Attention Students Interested in Dual Enrollment for Spring or Summer
Attention juniors and seniors interested in taking Dual Enrollment classes in the Spring or Summer – we will hold our information and registration meeting on Monday, November 6th at 6:00 pm in the Commons Area. This meeting is for current and new students interested in taking classes. We will share information on which classes will be offered, how to apply, and tips for Dual Enrollment success. Please see Mrs. Dear in the counseling Center if you have any questions or concerns.
Wayne County One-Act Performers Earn 1st Place in Region
The following students received awards:

Ella Geiger- Best lead actress
Jordan Coppick- Best lead actor
Marching Band Celebrations:
Congratulations to our Wayne County Yellow Jacket Marching Band for another strong showing at the Sound of Gold Marching Competition at Ware County High School last Saturday.
The band had their best performance of the year and received SUPERIOR ratings in Drum Major, Majorettes, Color Guard, Pit Percussion, Field Percussion, and Band!
In class 5A, our band placed 1st in Majorette, Pit Percussion, Field Percussion, and Band!
The band finished the competition placing 5th out of 21 bands and also won the top overall woodwind award for the entire competition.
HOSA Blood Drive
HOSA will be hosting a blood drive with The American Red Cross on Friday, November 3rd. All donors MUST be over the age of 16. Sixteen-year-olds must have the Red Cross permission form signed by their parents and returned to room 421 by November 1st.
Flyers are posted throughout the school with a QR code for making an appointment OR signing up with a HOSA member at lunch from October 23-27th. Permission forms can also be picked up during the lunches or from Ms. Priester in room 421

Provide Emotional and Academic Support:
- Be available to offer emotional support and guidance. High school can be a challenging time, and students may face stress and anxiety. Encourage open communication and let them know you're there to listen and help when needed.
- If you can, help with homework and assignments. Discuss difficult concepts, review their work, and offer assistance when they're struggling with a particular subject.
