FMS News

June 2, 2020

Dear FMS Families,

I hope you and your families are safe and healthy. As we watch the news and social media, it is a stark reality that we are living through a pandemic of both a virus and racism. As an FMS family, I know that many of you are hurting. Please know that we are working hard not only on making our school as safe as possible physically for the fall to combat Covid-19, but also examining our practices and procedures for bias and racism. Please know that you can reach out to me anytime to give your feedback or suggestions. I also included a couple resources below if you are wanting more information on ways to discuss the current events with your family. One thing that this year has proven is that we are a resilient community, and together, we can ensure lasting change happens.

Much love,

Beth Houf

Reminders

-Please don't forget to vote today! Prop S is on the back of the ballot. I've included an overview of what this would cover for our district. The extra space at FMS as well as a secured entrance and new classrooms doors is part of this proposition. Thank you for giving your feedback to make these items a priority. UPDATE: Thank you so much for helping to pass Prop S! #TogetherWeDid

-Those students that enrolled in summer school, you should have received multiple forms of communication at this time by both FPS and Launch. The first day of summer school is tomorrow. Please let us know if you need support.

-The summer meal program started back today. There is grab and go at McIntire and FHS from 11-1 and we also do deliveries. If you need meals delivered, please respond to this email and we are happy to add you to the list.
