ORGANELLES IN THE CELL

Nucleus- The Nucleus is found in both the animal and plant cells. The nucleus holds the DNA of the cell which tells what happens inside the cell. The nucleus is like the mayor.

Cell Membrane-The cell membrane is found in both the plant and animal cell. The membrane controls what goes in and out of the cell. It lets good things in and bad things out. The membrane is like the doorman of the cell.
Big image
Cytoplasm-The cytoplasm is found in both animal and plant cells. The cytoplasm holds the organelles in place. The cytoplasm is where the action happens.
Big image
Ribosome- Ribosomes are found in both animals and plant cells. It follows the directions of the nucleus and creates protein. Ribosomes are like small factories.
Big image
Mitochondria- The mitochondria is found in both cells, animal and plant cells. It produces ATP to fuel the action in a plant cell. It breaks down sugar to produce energy. It is the power plant of the cell. It is where cellular respiration takes place.
Big image
Vacuole-The vacuole is in both plant and animal cells. It stores water and nutrients for the cell. The vacuole is like the storage warehouse.
Big image
Golgi Apparatus- It is found in both cells, animal and plant cells. The Golgi Body groups liquids and protein. It is like a packaging plant.
Big image
Endoplasmic Reticulum- The ER is found in both cells. It follows the instruction from the nucleus and make protein. It is where the action takes happens.
Big image
Lysosome-It is only in the animal cell. It recycles, breaks down waste, and detoxifies poisons. It is like the recycling station.
Big image
Cell Wall- The cell wall is found in only the plant cell. It protects the cell. It is like the security guard.
Big image
Chloroplast- The chloroplast is found in the plant. It converts sun rays into energy that the cells can use. The chloroplast is like the solar power plant of the cell.

CELL THEORY

  • all living things are made of cells
  • carry out functions of needed to support life
  • cells come from other living cells

BODY ORGANIZATION

Cells-->Tissue-->Organ-->Organ System-->Organism

Prokaryotic Cells

Prokaryotic Cells do not have a nucleus. An example is bacteria.
Big image

Eukaryotic Cells

A Eukaryotic Cells contains a nucleus. Examples are fungi, animal, and plants.
Big image

Cellular Respiration

Is the process of when different molecules turn into ATP energy. This takes place in the mitochondria.
Big image

Photosynthesis

The process where plants make their own food out of sunlight. This takes place in the Chloroplast.
