Attendance Week- Important! Please read!
Thank you for participating in Attendance Week and encouraging your students to come to school! We are happy to say we beat our attendance percentage this year!!!
A quick read.. and something to ponder. :) Food for Thought!
TESTING- MAP and AIMS
Testing is set to begin this week. A couple things to consider:
1. AIMSweb- Please enter your students' AIMSweb Oral Reading, MCOMP and MCAP scores into the google doc that I shared with you a few weeks ago.
2. NWEA/MAP- The week of the 22-27 is designated for make up testing.
We will work to transition to testing in classrooms for Winter and Spring. Again, please enter MAP scores into the Google doc that was shared with you once testing is completed.
3. Fountas & Pinnell- Please enter your students' benchmark levels into the google doc labeled with your name.
MATH CHATS!!!
She is looking forward to working with us this year at the Big Hollow Math Chats. During this time we will have a chance to collaborate, explore Eureka materials, plan, and enjoy math. Grades kindergarten through eighth will have the opportunity to work together and learn more about the Eureka curriculum tool. Light snacks and water will be provided. The Big Hollow Math Chats will be held on the third Tuesday of the month, from 4-5:00 PM at the District Office - Middle School Library. Those dates will include: Teachers will receive 1 hour of CPDU credit and 1 hour stipend. Please use the provided link to access a Google form that will help Karen in preparing for your time together: https://docs.google.com/forms/d/1ZiUTIJkCPfN1eBIQ2P8w_x3vPHx1tefhty5Y3IeOu_s/edit

JANUARY- MAY 2018
Please make sure to choose a pre-observation date/time, a formal observation date/time, and a post conference date/time. (Please choose two dates for formal observations if you are non-tenured.) You will see there is only one AM time and one PM slot available each day for meetings/observations. I need to have summative evaluations for non tenured staff completed in March. I need to have summatives for tenured staff completed by early May.
Mr. Munoz will be completing informals as well. Thank you, and please let me know if you have any questions!

Recycling- PLEASE READ!!!
This year we will be enhancing our recycling program. We need your help! There will be new recycling containers placed in your classrooms. We need to avoid throwing items in the garbage if they can be recycled.
Students will need some help determining what is recyclable and what is not when placing items in your classroom bins. Attached is a flyer that I was hoping you could all share with your students on Tuesday to help facilitate this.
Every night, we will be asking the cleaning company to empty your classroom bins into the large recycling bins in the pods. Those will then be taken to the bins outside in back of the school.
