Brief Biography
John Curtin was Australia's fourteenth Prime Minister and was known as one of the best because of his leadership through World War II. But sadly Curtin did not live to see the final victory. At 4 am on 5 July 1945 he became only the second Australian Prime Minister to die in office, barely six weeks before the Japanese surrender was announced on the 15th August.
