Greetings...

Dear teachers,

Please have a great weekend! We actually have a full week next week (or so it looks in the weather updates), and we will be giving you more information on the TNReady testing schedule. Looking at the positive side, we got more instructional days in before Part I!

Calling all talent....FACULTY TALENT SHOW!

The faculty talent show takes place during senior week, which will be the last week of April. The show includes a variety of musical, comedy, and dance acts that are performed in a show exclusively for the seniors. We have a lot of talent on this staff, but even if you don't have "talent," you can still be a part if you just want to be silly. :)

Start brainstorming and getting your acts together. The show is always a hoot! You don't want to miss being a part of this fun and memorable event. The seniors get such a kick out of seeing their teachers on stage!

Email me your ideas and tentative plans. If you would like to participate but don't have an idea or group. let me know and we'll find a spot for you.

Teacher Spotlight....Jessica Jackson

I was raised on a beef cattle farm in Lincoln County. I have lived in Murfreesboro since I graduated from MTSU in 2005. I received my masters in admin and supervision from MTSU in 2009.

I have two older brothers, one is a fireman here in Murfreesboro and the other farms with my dad. I don't have any children but I love being an aunt to my 3 yr. old nephew Tucker and I have two God sons, Harrison (pictured with me) and James.

I love anything that includes the outdoors (hiking, water skiing, running) and I enjoy cooking in my spare time (though there is not much of that in my current life)

This is my first year as the head basketball coach here at Blackman, but prior to my two years at Stewarts Creek, I taught and was the asst. basketball coach here at BHS for 7 years.

Teacher Spotlight....Scott Mosier

“I come from a long line of dead people.” This Mel Brooks quote is one of my favorites, and sums up my sense of humor usually (I am pretty sarcastic). I was a Presidential scholar at MTSU, taught English at Smyrna High School for 13 years, worked technical support at Dell, was an Advanced Repair Agent at Geek Squad, and I have slept at least once since. I am CompTIA A+ and Network+ certified (working on Linux+ right now – Security+ soon thereafter). I married my beautiful wife, Kerri (who is in her 10th year of teaching – this year at BMS), after we started dating our senior year in high school (together for almost 19 years now; married for 16 – I still wonder how she has put up with me for this long – nominating her for sainthood for sure!). We have an eight year old daughter, Kat, who is a student at BES, and twin boys who will be four on this Sunday (February 21). In our “copious amounts of spare time,” we help out at Southside church of Christ in Shelbyville (where we live), where I recently helped our church start streaming our Sunday services on YouTube to help us reach our shut-ins and sick (we also broadcast via an internet radio station). My favorite authors are Douglas Adams and Stephen King, my favorite movies are usually comedies, science fiction, or horror (Monty Python and the search for the Holy Grail, Spaceballs, Star Wars, etc.), and my music taste is all over the place (except country and elevator music). If I can help, ask me (I will try my best). This is my second year at BHS, where I teach classes in computer repair and networking (I am also the English IV teacher for RCSOnline).
