A Message from Dr. Fulton
Greetings from RJH! I’m so thankful that fall weather is here and am equally thankful that you share your amazing children with us. Fall is one of my favorite times of the year due to the beautiful colors and the cooler temperatures. I hope you are able to take advantage of the great weather by enjoying the beauty that surrounds us.
Together, we will work to bring awareness and make a difference. Have you downloaded the new Rolla Public School app? The app is a great way to stay connected to all that goes on at Rolla Schools. You can choose which school to get alerts and updates from, as well as search for the information you might need. It’s available from Google Play and the app store.
I hope you have made plans to attend parent/teacher conferences coming up Wednesday, October 23rd. Teachers will be available in the RJH cafeteria from 4:00-7:00 p.m. that evening to visit about student grades, attendance, behavior, and any other matter you might want to discuss. This year the district administered the NWEA Assessment which is a nationally normed test that measures a student’s academic growth over time. The test is administered in English, Reading, and Math classes. Your child’s English and Math teachers will have your child’s reports and can review them with you. You certainly have access to the parent portal, but there is something personal about sitting down and talking face to face with your student’s teachers. As a side note to parent/teacher conferences, I would remind you that students and teachers will be out of school Friday, October 25th, the Friday following conferences.
Have a great October and remember it’s a great day to be a Bulldog.
Respectfully,
Dr. Fulton

RJH Counselor's Corner
Fall greetings from the RJH Counseling Office! It has been a wonderful and busy start to the school year. Amazing how fast the first quarter flew by! We love working with your students. Mrs. Snodgrass is the 8th grade counselor and has been in the Careers classes working with students on the Missouri Connections web-site exploring career interests. You may also access the great career information provided on this site, missouriconnections.org Please contact Mrs. Snodgrass if you need more information.
Mr. Jamison is the 7th grade counselor and has been in the Health classes covering a unit on suicide prevention. This unit is part of a nationwide effort to inform and equip students with resources in the fight against youth suicide. Two great resources we use in the unit are:
The Jason Foundation and Teen Suicide Prevention-Mayo Clinic https://www.mayoclinic.org › vid-20141366. Please take the time to watch the Mayo clinic video. It’s very informative and impactful.
We are here for your kids and happy to visit with you anytime you have concerns. Hope to see you at parent-teacher conferences. If you can’t make it but would like to speak with us, please see the contact info below.
Our counseling office could not run smoothly if it weren't for our awesome secretary Robin Whitaker. She can answer most questions you have.
