Children's Book Week- 97th Anniversary
Children's Book Week is the annual celebration of books for young people and the joy of reading.
Established in 1919, Children's Book Week is the longest-running national literacy initiative in the country. Every year, commemorative events are held nationwide at schools, libraries, bookstores, homes -- wherever young readers and books connect!
Derby Day!
Please share the Derby Powerpoint if you find the time. We also have a fabulous pop- up book to share with your class.
Derby Day
An entertaining and informative book for both children and adults. Eight colorful pop-up scenes tell the story of a thoroughbred from horse farm to race track and highlight Derby history and traditions. A great keepsake of the Kentucky Derby for horse lovers and racing fans.
Gaston Goes to the Kentucky Derby
The story is done in rhyme, which makes it great to read aloud. The
colorful illustrations are just delightful, each covering two pages, thus giving
a powerful sense of movement to the story.

Barbaro: The American Horse
He was bred to be a champion. He was born to run. Everyone said he would be one of the greatest racehorses of all time. Everyone said he would take a place in history next to Triple Crown winners like the fabled Secretariat.
