Common App & Xello
University Application Deadlines are CREEPING up (SCARY, I know)! (Most of them land on NOV. 1st)
If you are using Common App to apply to any colleges, please know that you'll need to link your CA account to Xello in order to request counselor documents, letters of recommendation from PATHS teachers, and send high school transcripts electronically.
Here are some links to how-to videos to help you with these processes:

Upcoming Events
FAFSA will open in December but this year the Federal Student Aid system is requiring students and parents to have an account prior to completing the FAFSA form. This means you and your parent will need to be sure you setup or confirm your FSA ID (login) at least 1 week prior to doing the FAFSA.
Our EXPERTS will be on campus in November to help students and parents with creting their FSA ID. If you'd like help please come to this event and bring your personal phone number, email and social security number. After creating your FSA ID, your identity will be verified prior to completing the FAFSA to ensure the information is accurate.
Moving forward, to book a time with our experts when they visit campus you will need to show proof that you and your parents FSA IDs have been created already.
Spring Scheduling
Counselors will be working on Spring Schedules starting in the next few weeks. If you'd like to discuss your upcoming schedule, please visit during lunch or make a student appointment with Mrs. Crotty to discuss.

College Planning - What Now?
Start Applying NOW
Use Xello for your application process
Use Xello to keep track of your applications. If you apply directly, you'll have to add the school manually to your list in Xello. If you apply with Common App, you'll need to link CA and Xello (button at the top of your college list in Xello to do this).

Raise.me Scholarships
WHAT IS RAISE.ME?
Our school is committed to providing our students with the best possible access to resources to pursue higher education. Because of this, we’re partnering with Raise.me so that students can start earning scholarship money for college starting as early as 9th grade. Raise.me currently partners with over 180 colleges around the country, with 2-3 new colleges being added each week. Any high school student in the United States can earn scholarships for their good grades, their involvement in sports and clubs, and their community service hours. Signing up for Raise.me is free and takes less than half an hour and could have a pay-out of tens of thousands of scholarship dollars for your college education.
So basically, you make an account, you add your accomplishments and tasks and you earn small scholarships from the colleges you "follow."
Be sure to search for colleges, not all schools are "partners."
